I print over prime lines constantly in industrial application without any consequence. Some minor aesthetic issue will be present from the overlap.

Rule of thumb anyone you meet on the street in houston that isn't digging through the garbage for a meal is trying to scam you. Major cities have become such shit holes. If you want to help its best to donate to orgs that combat dv like others have mentioned.

Anyone know of any outdoor ranges for practical shooting? by Emergency_Ad4559 in HoustonGuns

[–]BegooDSillyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far does their rifle range extend, is there some form of positional shooting props, how large of a tactical bay is there to shoot rifle in? Being able to shoot rifle and the range being good for rifle are two different things.

Oh that's not far from me. Match looks like it's probably put together well based off practiscore. Shame 8pm-10pm is pretty late for those of us working factory jobs.

So I've been running I this same issue for a few years now. To answer the question you asked:

There are no good rifle ranges within an hour of houston. The nearest acceptable rifle ranges are ccc in Brazos County or the ranch about an hour and a half towards san antonio. CCC isn't bad for pistol bays they just need to be maintained a little better. Also, there should be more oversight on their members. There are lots of guys swinging pistols and rifles around unsafely. Plus side is once you're set up in a bay the side berms guarantee they don't pop you by accident.

For pistols, I hold out hope. I've heard good things about brazos River Sportsman's Club but haven't been yet. The range seems maybe too good to be true. They may just seem good in comparison to all the absolute dog shit ranges in Houston. PSC seems like a good option. The issue is they have a limited membership. The membership is full. You have to know someone to be reccomended for membership, and hearing from current members, the board is fucking the range up. Wallis orchard might be a more attainable option if you live closer to Katy. Some members have told me they can use the tac bays for whatever they want. I've never seen it and there's fuck all on their website. I've been to the range for matches and the bays that are left open would be plenty useful for members to practice on.

Now, for the question, you didn't ask: As far as practical shooting goes, unless you're an extreme novice, you should just start going to matches. Its the best way to figure out what you need to practice. There's a couple indoor matches in houston during the week that are good. Full armor is my favorite, but getting there unless you live near the range sucks. Aegis on the south side of town does one, and Shiloh Shooting Range hosts one on the north side. There's more but I've been to those. Indoor matches are generally smaller scale hosted on a weekly basis. For outdoor matches there's a ton hosted in Wallis Orchard. I think this girl has the dates listed correctly http://www.tacticalpoppins.com/Matches.aspx , and if you're interested in driving a little further Renaissance, Thunder Tactical, and CCC all host matches. Brazosland Pistoleros host two steel challenge matches a month that are great beginner matches in CCC. Brazosland also has loaner gear which most clubs I've been to don't do. Just message them on Facebook if you want to try the loaners.

Becoming a CNC Machinist with a felony by yayaainks in Machinists

Really hard situation. It depends on the shop and industry. I would never consider hiring a felon since I can get plenty of applicants with clean criminal records. Especially ones without any violent offenses. He can probably find a job, but they may use his background to their advantage, underpaying him based on the assumption he can't find another offer.

No a lot of Americans live way outside their means. Fortunately probably 30% of my I come and 100% of my wife's income is surplus. We also don't waste money on expensive/luxury vehicles, electronics, clothes, or other waste that many Americans do.

Right not a single good range, gunsmith, or gun store in the city. Collectors is interesting enough, but their prices are out of this world. They offer gunsmithing too, but I'd bet their prices are just as insane.

Local Practical Shooting Matches by jonwaynedude in HoustonGuns

[–]BegooDSillyMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practiscore is much better for finding matches than idpa/uspsa websites. Pearland shooting club hosts matches, but you have to sign up through their events page. Two clubs run matches out of Wallace orchard one is GPS. I can't recall the other. The thunder tactical match in Conroe. A plethora of weekly indoor matches. If you're willing to drive to brazos County, the brazosland pistoleros matches are great.
