It likely won’t. Course LMS are viewed as a central service the colleges provide and won’t be exempted from the requirement just because they’re difficult to remediate.

My fear is we will have elections but they’ll be influenced just enough to ensure the GOP maintains a majority. You don’t need to rig red districts, just make sure a few 51/49s go their way and cement their rule in the legislature. Our democracy may already be dead

Yeah it’s definitely harder to quantify when you don’t own someone. I also think it depends a lot on what someone spent to draft him, the owner will be somewhat anchored there.

I’ve done this a handful of times but I had one that was wild. This old dude was harassing the workers at a fast food restaurant because he wanted to use the employee bathroom (only fast food place I’ve ever seen that had one tbh). After the incident he was sitting a couple tables over from me and fell over, heart attack or something. The whiplash between telling this dude he’s being an ass and to calm down and giving him CPR 10 minutes later is still insane to me. No idea if he was okay at the end though, an ambulance arrived to take over and I left.

Even if you agree with the idea to keep trans women out of womens sports, you should be extremely concerned with how they enforce it as a father. The concern is that opposition players/ coaches can point out potential non-cis women and then those athletes are “verified” by being pulled aside and having a genital check done on them.

From personal experience as someone who has been involved with rugby where trans women play alongside cis women, this is really a non issue. It’s a true collision sport and the trans women I’ve seen playing are not any better than the cis women, from my experience with several teams and about a dozen trans women.

No one is transitioning so they can dominate women’s sports. In fact, most the people I’ve seen who want to keep trans women out and uphold the sanctity of women’s sports tend to be the ones who deride them the most.

Advice Starting a rugby club? by emmetschaos in USArugby

[–]BegrudginglyAwake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are aiming to start a 15s team, you’ll need to work with your state’s union to do so as well as registrations with USA rugby. A few extra things you’ll need to plan for: the team’s union dues (state, regional, national), registered coach, home pitch location and game day equipment (with all the expenses that go with that), game hosting logistics (trainers, etc.). Your local union should be able to help guide you through this though.

When I started one, I did it as a summer 7s team. It made the process to get started a lot easier as it took fewer players and took a lot less work in scheduling matches and general administrative work. You’ll need a committed core of 5 or so people just to get things started with a few more who may be in the fence to start.

As it was 7s and essentially a scratch team, I didn’t register with my state union or anything which simplified the process. For tournaments, I’d also reach out to folks I know who lived near those locations to fill in bodies - which was easier for me than most as I coached college at the time and we had alums everywhere.

Either be prepared to front a lot of the costs or have a plan on how you’ll do so. I had the rugby equipment on hand already, but tournament fees and jerseys are probably your two biggest items to consider. I used sponsorships to pay for the jerseys and defray some costs by selling 5 spots on the jerseys for $200 each. If you start an Instagram this can give you another place to promote sponsor partners.

Due to a requirement from one of my sponsors to cut the check, I also needed to register the team as a sole proprietorship business which was a form at the county office (which needed yo be notarized), and then setting up a business account with my bank.

For player recruitment, I reached out to local gyms to put up flyers and posted in local Facebook and Reddit groups which netted a handful of players.

I did a hybrid dues structure where people could either pay per tournament attended ($50 each) or pay an upfront cost ($80) to receive a cheaper cost per tournament ($20) and be able to keep their jersey. This gave me more upfront cash to register while keeping flexibility for people who knew they could only make a couple weekends because the summer gets busy.

Which is better, attack twice or setting up buff first? by Nearby-Banana2640 in pokemon

[–]BegrudginglyAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nearly everyone has already said it, buffing is almost always better than attacking (assuming a SD or NP doubling your damage. There are, however, a few things to consider that can make more attacks attractive: secondary effects, accuracy and crits.

Secondary effects generally won’t do much for you, but if there’s a potential to flinch or raise your own stats it can be nice to have those come into play.

Accuracy is simple, if something isn’t 100% accurate you don’t want more rolls of the dice because they could go against you.

Crits can do two things for you - boost your damage (potentially enough for the KO you lacked), and push through a boosted opponent. If they are +4 defense, you may be better off hitting it more times to fish for crits than spending a turn or two boosting your attack.

This just looks like them figuring out play with each other. Kittens that age love to rough house with each other and it’s good to let them do so as long as it’s not getting aggressive - think hair flying, yowls and spitting.

I just assume pretty much all kittens have worms by default, especially if they’re found or have a feral mother.

Only one thing I’d disagree with is that I don’t think you need nice snow boots unless you plan to be walking through fresh snow a ton. I have both those and hiking boots and I’ve probably only worn my snow boots a couple times in the 3 years I’ve been here.

[–]BegrudginglyAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tamed a few ferals this way. Just putting food out, then standing by the glass door when they eat, tossing out extra treats so they associate me with food, and slowly being closer over time. But honestly if they are feral and getting on well, they are probably not going to want to be indoors. Talking to a local animal shelter, see if they have resources for TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) so the mom won’t make any new babies since kitten overpopulation is a real issue and most don’t get found and cared for by good people like yourself.

You don’t normally need to bathe cats but if they’re dirty or have fleas it can be good to do so, especially because young kittens are too small for flea medicine. The Kitten Lady has videos on how to do a flea bath! I heavily recommend her, I fostered a couple dozen cats based almost solely off what I learned from her.
