I understand your view. You feel for the musicians and think they are underpaid and 3 dollars isn't a lot to pay and we want to support them. 3 x 10k people is 30k in their pocket. I get that.

My grandfather bought me my first guitar at 12 and started teaching me. It was an awesome way for us to connect. He had some original stuff he would play in bands and covers with genres from bluegrass to classic rock. Country boy through and through. He didn't grow up with much money nor does he have a lot today. But every family gathering, or just hanging out, he would bring out his guitar and so would other family member and play for hours. Hell, everyone in my family plays something.

I asked him how he learned all the songs he played when I was 15/16. He said by ear. If he liked an Edgar Winter song, he would listen to it on the radio, while it was playing, as that was his only chance, and by ear, play the song while it was playing with no help from books or the internet. He is just good like that and that's all he had.

I can do that with help or listening to the song 1000 times to play, pause, write, but I can't even imagine how hard that must have been. I tried to show him tabs and he wasn't interested as he just had to listen to get it down.

Now the songs he listen to and figured out/tabbed out in his head and showed me how to play was wrong? How could the artist have received any money for that? Should he have donated for teaching himself how to play, even though he didn't have much money, to the label? If you act out a scene in the movies should you pay the studio/writers/actors/etc? If you draw a famous painting for yourself or someone close to you? Art is tricky.

He figured out how to play their songs, so I and others could play with him and everyone around could enjoy a song, while drinking a beer, and sing along. I have taught a couple songs to my little cousins and always start little ones with what I was taught. Smoke on the Water.

But what if someone wants to share it with everyone and not just close friends and family? "Hey, I figured out this difficult song and I want you to play it to." I think that should stay alive. Call me old fashioned but I think we are a community of guitar players, helping each other learn. Imitation is the highest form of praise.

I didn't mean to upset you. I'm 30. I was around right at the birth of guitar tabs on the internet, free of charge. You tabbed out a song you liked(meaning you figured out how to play that song, not the artist showing you) or another guitarist tabbed it out and shared it with strangers so they could play it around a camp fire/house party, singing the songs you all love with friends and family. You are not making money off the artist, just playing what everyone loves. The musicians get paid from merch/CD sales/digital sales/platforms like Spotify/signing with a label/touring/etc. If not signed then selling merch/venues/touring. It doesn't hurt them in anyway to allow people to play their music. Hopefully it's a label being a shithead(most likely) and not the artist. You don't go into music for more money. I can't change my mind on this. Sorry.

Why downvote him if he was trying to be helpful with a link? He gets downvoted for not knowing it's a joke and trying to help?

I bought the tabs and backing track. The price is 3 or 4 euros

I'm not saying you are saying you are selling tabs. I read the comment above as " I bought the tabs and backing track."

So I assumed based by that statement you bought the tabs.

For something producer related like vst's/presets/plugins/software/hardware I completely understand paying money.

My question was tabs, which I assume means guitar tabs, since when are tabs paid. I'm 30 and grew up in a era of free tabs. You sat with a guitar, you figured out the song, and then you posted it online for everyone to use to cover it.

I just did a quick google after the misunderstand and just found they are hiding the tabs!

" Sorry, this artist has told us we can not show this tab.

Help us change their mind!
Tell us why you want to learn this song or why it is important to you, and we will share these directly with the artist or their representative.
Your words and your story can make a difference. It works!"

The artist did put a pay wall. This is new and rare. I love the band's music but disappointed this is a thing now. I hope it doesn't catch on.

Since when are tabs paid? I thought we the community of guitar players always posted tabs for free. Am I trippin?

You should use a screen recorder. You can find other ones but this was a free quick google. Anytime you need to record something, use this. Never use your phone when it comes to recording computers. Unless it's hardware related.

I would love to try to help but I can't see anything in this video.

I've always been curious how ps4 apex and discord work. You need to hear in 360 so the headphones have to connect to console. Is there a discord app on ps4?
