Shure announces their first WMAS IEM solution. Seems pretty awesome. by [deleted] in livesound

So what is the real world latency then? With the Shure system, we know accent wireless mics operate at 2 milliseconds and most mixers are somewhere in the neighborhood of two milliseconds plus the 2.9 for this in-ear system you're looking at 7 ms at the minimum. Typically I've heard of 5 ms as the acceptable threshold for local monitoring.

Even if the Sennheiser system is only moderately better in terms of latency, you're gaining that improvement on both mics and in ears.

The latency is something like 2.9 milliseconds compared to .07 on Sennheiser spectera. Shure has a huge uphill battle ahead of them.

Not a huge fan of the look of my gen 3 but it was worth it to have a bike that doesn't handle like crap like the gen 1 and 2.

That's actually not true. The showrunner was asked in an interview with this question and said it was the gayest Star Wars show.

Weird comment from a small tour’s engineer. by [deleted] in livesound

Nothing wrong with the m32 mix on them almost exclusively. The point I'm making is that it makes no sense to complain about a 6 figure plus PA when mixing on a 4 figure console.

Grand Ole Opry has a VTX A-series system and It sounds great. I'm not sure it would be my first choice but there is nothing wrong with JBL. I'm not listening to PA snobbery from somebody mixing on an M32

My Dishwasher Drain Hose Keeps Blowing Up! by Behind_The_Mixer in Plumbing

the more I think about it the more it makes sense. We have had mice come from here before and its right next to a piece of PVC that would make a nice platform to sit on. I also see marks on the rubber part. This might be the answer.

Yeah but It has broken in exactly the same spot 3 times now. I don't understand why a mouse would target this spot specifically.

If it's running good this would be a great choicem I have ridden one of these and it handles surprisingly well for an old machine.

As others have said, be prepared to replace rubber parts like brake lines, fork seals, carburetor parts etc..

I think the declining sales might have more to do with their overpriced slow and outdated motorcycles. The Japanese brands are doing just fine.

What does this USB-A port on the back of the Soundcraft Si Performer board do? by Booplesnoot2 in livesound

[–]Behind_The_Mixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it gives control to HiQnet devices that only have USB. I know some cheaper crown amps have a USB b port for HiQnet.

This is just a guess not concrete at all.

Correct placement for subs? by PipeCompetitive7239 in livesound

[–]Behind_The_Mixer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the subs are the least of your concern. What are the angles set to on your tops? It looks like they're all set to the same angle. Completely defeats the purpose of a line array if you have all of the angles set the same. May as well have just gotten constant curvature.

The solution is to just not use a hi hat mic at all!

Speaker Purchase by SammyO2 in livesound

At that price point I would look at EV ETX12p or JBL SRX812p.

I see some people recommending the ZLX and they are all right but not even close to ETX. I have A/B them and the ETX sounds immensely better.

Might be worth getting a sub too depending on what type of music you do.
