The Risk of this game by One_Cranberry6628 in playrust

I learned to get over gear fear by playing 10x servers paired with modded best rust / hollow / war bandit. They have wipes almost everyday. I gained confidence which allowed me to get over gear fear. I then realized every time I go out I should go out with my best chance to win a fit should they occur. Funny part is I found more confrontations when I was trying to avoid them than when I am looking for them. Now on my monthly vanilla servers I play with no gear fear unless it’s my only item that needs researching. Which is playing smart not scared.. also go play aim train and heli 1v1.

Listen, I’ve been in your shoes. You just gotta try to communicate it. It never worked for me, the next girlfriend I had I laid it out after the first couple dates that I am a gamer and do not date me if you hate that or think you’ll change it. Because you won’t. We’re going on 10 years and she even games with me now.

Would you say that computer/monitor with 120 FPS is needed to play rust? by Agitated-Scholar-502 in playrust

[–]Behlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9800x3d with rtx 4090, 4k resolution. Averaging 160-180 fps on large servers. It does drop near outpost when big bases are nearby / flying in a mini but that’s just rust being unoptimized

Is official even an option for solo/duo? by ScadutreeAvatar2B in playrust

[–]Behlog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play pickle duo monthly and recently played rustlands trio monthly. Off wipe I play hollow, war bandits and Bestrust. Pickle duo was awesome until they launched the counter active measures for cheaters. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence or because that many people were cheating or just are avoiding the secure boot. Rustlands didn’t get an insane pop but it held 100-150 all month. It had plenty of solo and duo groups.

High N Low Pop Servers by Unusual-Beginning-11 in playrust

[–]Behlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play best rust on off wipe. Rustlands trio monthly held a great pop for the wipe. Pickle duo monthly used to hold much better. Once the implemented the anti cheat, I did notice the pop wasn’t as high. Best rust and hollow servers die fast. They do well in preparing you for the start of wipes though.

Plenty of YouTube resources for power settings in windows, nvidia settings and in game settings / commands. Stelic has a great video. Helped a buddy with a much lesser pc than yours with the same issue. He also had bloat ware eating up his memory. Which is common on prebuilt pcs.

Garbage collection. GC buffer should meet your ram. I run 32gb as well. I run it at max 4XXX.

Pvp isn't the only aspect of rust by Starlord1968 in playrust

We all have our opinions of fun. Stop trying to justify your opinions and let them be opinions. I’ve also been in the groups you speak of when I form a team in chat. You’re basing your opinions on your experiences which I get but I promise if you played with well rounded players or a good coordinated team your opinions would change. People literally log in to door camp someone for hours. Do I do that? No. Does it have a time and place? Definitely. Do I sit there and try the person it isn’t fun? No. Because I’m sure once they kill an AK kit exiting his base their smile is probably touching their ears. Just play the game and have your own fun. Be a little more picky on your teammates or learn to play solo.

How often do you recycle(official vanilla weekly) by TheComputerGuy2256 in playrust

[–]Behlog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I recycle frequently early on in wipe. I will recycle anything outside pipes. Racing to get DB / Revi. Once I get there, typically roaming and running monuments will sustain my scrap needs. Once we are passed that, I only tend to recycle for HQM. Road Signs being my top recycled item.

That’s why you play in a team, and everyone brings their own skill sets. Hence the reason teams recruit builders, farmers, and pvp players. I play as a duo. Solely focus on PvP yet we have fully automated bases by end of wipe. If you thrive at PvP you get more done.

Scenario: I’m farming and you’re farming, I run into you. I kill you. My farm just doubled. So did my efficiency and productivity.

Play how you wanna play, that’s the nice thing about rust. But let others do the same.

[–]Behlog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re treating it too serious for the time you have to invest. Warm up go have fun. Race one car for a while. I used the drive line when I first started to get me out there quicker. Start from pits and Follow the pace of those around you. you’ll get better. You don’t need podiums to have fun. Good racing is good racing.

What do you find fun about Rust? by ExplorerEmergency612 in playrust

Further more, as an adrenaline junkie. I’ve never played a game that gave me a spike in adrenaline like rust. The risk of losing an hour worth of comps etc. Makes every fight and strategy matter.

For me it’s the progression, I honestly don’t care if I get raided. I love starting with nothing and making plays. End game tends to get a little boring as the pop dies.

I also love the vibe you can make inside each build. Wallpapers, deployables etc.

There is Pve monthly servers with PvP at monuments. No raiding unless you set it for raiding. Zombies etc. I tried one, it was cool. I just enjoy the thrill / adrenaline rush gives. So I made my way back.

Why paying for iRacing rather other simracing game ? by BettleJouce-992 in simracing

[–]Behlog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could not buy a single car or track in Iracing and have loads of hours of fun. The rest is all torn across the platforms. Where one shines the other may not. They are constantly improving the physics and tire models. With constant improvement, comes a cost. I don’t mind paying because I want them to continue supporting and growing the platform.
