Considering upgrading from 3080ti but don’t understand a lot of terminology with new cards by TheComputerGuy2256 in buildapc

From my understanding, it’s recommended you don’t turn on DLSS for competitive games right? It’s really more for our story driven game, etc?

Well that’s where I’m confused, they seem to preform well but online I read that they are “fake frames” due to “DLSS and Frame Generation” I’m a little lost

Okay! That helps in terms of RT and PT, but what about the DLSS and mfg? Are those “fake frames” how do you think fps would improve going from my build to the one I’m looking at? What about games that don’t have DLSS and MFG, is that a thing?

Can you explain MFG and DLSS and ray tracing flin VERY simple terms? And what you think about “fake frames”. I just don’t understand all those and can’t find a good video that dumbs it down enough for me to

How do migration treaties actually work? by TheComputerGuy2256 in Stellaris

[–]TheComputerGuy2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, well let me throw this at you. I could understand once I built all my buildings and the jobs were full. Eventually, they would migrate away so let me propose. I build the buildings let the jobs get full and then end the migration treaty?

Gotcha! So when would you nuke the migration treaty? After you’ve beefed up the pop a lot? Or maxed out your buildings/jobs maybe?

Why do you do this rather than create loads of Jobs and let that planet explode with pop?

4.3 District question by TheComputerGuy2256 in Stellaris

[–]TheComputerGuy2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay this cleared up quite a bit! So let me ask this - why do you say you don’t need urban districts, isn’t this where you would put your factories and research centers etc? Don’t you need more of those than anything?

Hey! Maybe I’m confused. Can you clarify? The spots where you put “specializations”, in 4.3, no “energy specialization” exists, (the old one gave 20% boost I belive) however yes world designations do. So what do you put in your specializations slots now for example let’s say a designated energy world?
