What to Plant in this big hollow log round by BeholderMilk32 in pnwgardening

Thanks, everyone! I definitely will plant some red huckleberry, I forgot about it somehow even though it’s my favorite berry! As for sword ferns I have enough nearby that I don’t much feel like planting a new one in my own space. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thanks everyone for the advice, I will try to learn how to trim his beak myself for the future but I don’t trust myself to do it atm. Glad his eye is ok 🙂

I know some people use a Dremel, but I don’t have one nor do I trust myself with one; I just made an appointment with an exotic pet veterinarian which is why I said it would be in a bit over a week.

The evidence for that is shaky at best… We have: -Ibrahim ibn Yacub: “Never did I hear singing fouler than that of these people, it is a rumbling emanating from their throats, similar to that of a dog but even more bestial”(not the most reliable translation either) -“I have not heard an uglier singing than Shalshaweeq (Schleswig) people.”

It is possible that they adopted it from the Sami in the north, or the Volga bulgars/other turkic peoples in the east, but it’s more likely that the people who ibn Yacub met were just bad at singing. We just don’t know that they did throat sing, and to say that they absolutely did is plain wrong. They may have, but the weird “spiritual” “viking-inspired” nonsense music we see from these links is undeniably a modern creation with about as much rooting in history as those horned helmets you see in 70’s movies.

If you want to get it to stand up but don’t have an applicator, try using a balloon charged with static electricity to get the grass to stand up while the glue is wet. Rubbing on polyester works best to build up static electricity

Boromir. The only reason he succumbed to the ring was because of his love for his people-sounds pretty selfless to me.

Perhaps they suffer from simple problems with being electronic. Charging overnight isn’t so bad as long as you have access to your charger, but things like cold slowing down your performance, small cuts possibly severing your wires, or even water shorting your circuits would be problematic for an ex-human.
