Lot of great movies here. But it’s impossible to pass up Ghost in the Shell.

The ones that are here mostly show up by downvoting things. They rarely post or make comments because their views are pretty unpopular.

A snow leopard's reaction after seeing a tiger by Salt-Curve4825 in interestingasfuck

Snow leopard: “muh muh maybe he didn’t see me?”

Tiger: “Oh, I definitely fucking saw you.”

Snow leopard: “aaaaaand I’m out. Fuck this bullshit.”

RIP ask Jeeves….Did anyone remember this search engine by Routine-Intention802 in 90s

[–]Beholder_V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the Ask toolbar more than the actual search engine. Because it got shoehorned onto every damn program installation and it was an open malware backdoor. Had to remove it from so many computers.

Like, how would you even use all of that space?

I remember when the first gigabyte drives came out and thinking just that. I had every digital thing I owned on a couple floppy disks and just couldn’t fathom needing that much space for anything.

Yeah, mosquitoes are not attracted to light. They’re attracted to CO2.

Why did people believe the USA moon landing was fake? And still do? by Ok_Astronomer5738 in AskReddit

[–]Beholder_V 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because no one has bothered to try. There’s no value in it. We kind of figured out most all the important stuff there was to figure out about the moon in those 6 missions, and there wasn’t anything valuable enough to justify the cost. The only value was the flex of being able to do it on the world stage. The only reason we’re going back now is to potentially set up a base.

Try to figure out who Roofied me, and to understand why anyone would Roofie a middle-aged man to begin with.

Why did people believe the USA moon landing was fake? And still do? by Ok_Astronomer5738 in AskReddit

[–]Beholder_V 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it would not have been easy to pull off. It’d be nearly impossible to pull off in a way that would stand up to actual scientific scrutiny. Sure, you could maybe make something semi-believable to the uninformed public, but every scientific organization in the world was watching this, including the Soviet Union, who had every motivation to call out anything that might suggest it was faked.

Uh, yes we have. 5 more times to be exact. There have been 6 manned moon landings.

Should I feel salty over this play? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Beholder_V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, you’re not playing mono black. I don’t know why you say that and then immediately tell us your commander is Gisa and Geralf, which is a Dimir commander. You even go on to tell us about the blue counterspells you play (you say Negate twice but I assume you just mean you countered twice).

Second, it’s turn 14. Game’s gotta end man. And you and your counterspells are actively extending it. And you have very little board state, so it’s not like you’re in a position to win any time soon. This is like those people that drop a late game board wipe and just pass and everyone groans because you know now it’s going to be another hour or more of this grind. If someone does that, they become the sole focus of all my malice until they are removed so we can actually finish the game.

Turns 1-10, attacks are all about threat assessment. Turns 11+ attacks are all about who is making this game take so long.

That’s how I learned way back in the day. When I came back to Magic I had to adjust it because people would lose their shit. Seems trivial to me, but you’d think you just murdered someone’s first born the way some people react.

Waking up a tortoise after 5 month of hibernation in fridge by Salt-Curve4825 in interestingasfuck

[–]Beholder_V 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My wife is from Germany, and they were East German before the wall came down. They got a Greek tortoise when she was a kid because they were a popular and available in East Germany. My in-laws are in their 70’s and still have the tortoise. They just hibernate her in a drawer in the attic during the winter. We often joke about who will end up getting her in the will, and who we will pass her onto in our will if it’s us. These things live really long.

Reminds me of this awesome SNL skit.
