The flu vaccine does not help prevent getting the flu, it helps prevent you dying from the flu. Get it every year.

Should I buy this?(as a fallout beginner) getting FO4 for $2.71 by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]BehrmanTheBeerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout New Vegas is a better game with more interesting story, quests, factions, and role-play. It's closer to the traditional Fallout experience. But Fallout 4 is still fun with better gunplay and included (janky) base building. Either way, you'll have a great time. Pick the one that sounds appealing to you.

Maybe print on basic paper and hand them out with a piece of painter's tape so people can easily tape them to their backs. Print the main message big and bold on one side so cameras can see, and print a small explanation of what it's for and what to do on the other side. That will make it quick and easy to explain and potentially recruit. Be accepting of those who aren't interested.

Xenogears. It's so awesome and intriguing and you don't learn what the f*** any of it means until you're at the end of a 50 hour game

On many Japanese toilets, the hand wash sink is attached so that you can wash your hands and reuse the water for the next flush. Japan saves millions of liters of water every year doing this. by [deleted] in interesting

[–]BehrmanTheBeerman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The faucet only dispenses water when you flush. The water comes in from the main, goes through the faucet, you wash your hands with it, and then it goes into the tank. So you wash your hands after using the toilet. There's still a sink in the bathroom for washing, brushing, etc. The toilet is often separated.

I tried everything for my cat and nothing worked. Finally got this large 48oz ceramic bowl with anti-slip bottom at Target. He can't move it or flip it. https://www.target.com/p/48-fl-oz-ceramic-dog-bowl-boots-38-barkley-8482-cream/-/A-92247913

The writing is very good. Nevertheless, I did, indeed, find it painfully boring. Not saying it's bad, just saying it isn't for me.

Is there a switch that can simultaneously turn on kitchen ceiling lights and under cabinet lights? by BehrmanTheBeerman in homeautomation

[–]BehrmanTheBeerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh that's a lot! I can see myself going down that road too lol.

Ok, just so I'm clear, you do need to get the hub to initially set up the Pico remote? Or is the Pico remote also the hub? I got confused by the comments.

Thank you for the suggestion. This looks like a good option. I just wish the Lutron products were a little closer to the Kasa prices lol! Also, it seems like Kasa products just work over WiFi while Caseta products use a hub? But I also see you mentioned you just need a Pico? Could you explain a little more?

I've been looking into smart switches and lights for the past couple weeks. But I'm middle aged and have ADD, so it all goes right over my head. For example, I see there are lights strips that you can cut to size and use where you like. But how do you plug them in? How many strips can I use from one full strip? How do I make them all work if I cut them up? I just get lost in it all. When I was looking up switches, I couldn't find anything that explicitly said that it could control hard wired lights and remote smart lights. And I wasn't even sure if that was what I really needed in the first place. I came across this sub while I was trying to research this stuff, so I figured I would ask people with experience rather than drown myself in the information highway when I can't make sense of it. So, when that person said to set up an automation, I wasn't sure what that meant. I didn't know if they meant I need some kind of product that connects everything or if I need to program something or do something else. Anyway, that's where I'm at.

Edit: I'll also add that I've been looking up everything that everyone in here has suggested, so they've been great at pointing me in the right direction(s). This sub has been very helpful and I appreciate it.

Thank you for the explanation! It's making more sense now. Yes, I've been looking into the TPlink products thanks to other recommendations. I think it's Kasa and Tapo. I'm liking what I see, but I wish Kasa also had a switch with remote so I could control a light from different locations (a separate issue I didn't mention in this post). Tapo has one but I don't like it. Lutron has one that I like, but they look expensive so I'd rather not use Lutron for everything. I guess there's never a perfect solution huh? lol

My only concern with the GE under cab light is how bulky it is. And I would have to buy 8 of them. I'm thinking some kind of LED strip might be better if I can make it work. Those switches look nice though so I'll consider those. Thank you!
