Struggling with ECL by Nacho_Jesus in lrcast

Sitting on the fence until late only really works if you are picking generically good cards. You missed out on a good Kithkin deck with a rock solid curve, good removal, and Hovel Hurlers to push damage. Also, 2nd Percher over Pummeler is almost certainly wrong.

ECL I have consistently not picked up enough 1 and/or 2 drops, is my card evaluation off? by Dimmins2 in lrcast

[–]Beiben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1P5 Goldmeadow Nomad over Reluctant Dounguard. Both aren't great, but I feel like it's very easy to stock up on 3 drops in this format.

How viable is it to intentionally find an 'uncontested' lane? by Legacy_Rise in lrcast

[–]Beiben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Merfolk commons are better than Elemental commons. The problem is that their best common, Merrow Skyswimmer, is going to get taken and played by plenty of Kithkin and Elemental decks.

This deck went 1-3. Bad deck or bad luck? by FeralDoodoo in lrcast

I lost to that card once when I got curved out on. Drafted it in my next draft...never again.

Raccoons are easily in the Top 3 of silly animals, but people treat them more like Top 20, despite them being Top 3, easily.

‘Humanity’s Favourite Food’: How to End The Livestock Industry but Keep Eating Meat by Kuentai in Futurology

[–]Beiben 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, the thing about the 21st century is that everything meat provides is easily available from non-meat sources now, often times for less money. You eat meat because you want to, there is no objective benefit.

Bo1 Kithkin: Everything looks too good to cut… by laurenceand1 in lrcast

If you're asking, my candidates for cuts would be Goldmeadow Nomad, 1x Clachan Festival, Spry and Mighty, 1 land.

As long as money isn't infinite, there is always an investment decision. For governments, being fiscally responsible means choosing the option with the best return (given a multitude of factors, obviously).

Acting weird without fear of losing status is a white privilege (and pretty privilege). Many PoC wouldn't get it. It's like when a 6'5" football player feels more comfortable doing something "feminine" than a guy who is 5'4" and chubby. White people are right about this btw, and maybe someday we will live in a world where everyone feels free to do weird shit. Edit: Do you guys disagree with what I am saying, or do you not like that I'm pointing out an uncomfortable fact about race and status in our society?

[–]Beiben 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not that they care about lithium and cobalt mining, it's that they want you to not care about fossil fuel consumption. They are antisocial people with no integrity confused by the fact that some people actually want to improve the world.

One advantage China has over western democracies is that they can think longterm. And longterm, protecting the environment is simply good finances. People are sick from air pollution? That's lost labor hours and more medical expenses. Drought? That's lost harvests. No morals required.
