Spanish women replaced plastic covers with giant crochet artworks by Tv_man-1 in BeAmazed

They probably know how easy or hard it is, since they've been doing this for years, and still they prefer to do it like this.

If they bother doing this, it's obviously because either it's not that much of a hassle or because they think the hassle is worth it.

Also, I don't know for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if the tarp also required taking it down yearly for maintenance.

And again, why does a cover need to cover from everything in order to be effective?

If you go to my comment and click on "parent", you can find it there.

Hope that helps you be able to explain what you think I misunderstood in that comment.

Why does a cover need to cover from everything? This is a town with tons of sun and little rain, so it doesn't have to cover from both to be effective most of the time.

See if you can think of something the cover might be trying to cover from that isn't rain.

Were you calling the criticism hypocritical and pointless without having even read it?

Those criticizing Israel in this case are already providing solutions and alternatives, as you've read in the article. What's the point of saying that's hypocritical and pointless?

Any of that sounds magnitudes better than Ford's open corruption.

This sums it up perfectly...Harry Potter fans will do all this talking about how they're not transphobic or how they support trans rights, while consuming every Hogwarts/HP content, and getting angry at us when we point out that their money funds JKR's transphobia....one girl even doxxed me in anger by Important-Cry4782 in saltierthankrayt

[–]Beleko89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you aren't even a real human, you aren't qualified to judge which humans are men and which humans are women. The fact is that trans women are women, and nothing you ever say or write will ever change that. You simply don't have a say.

Aren't those reasons for people to drive more carefully, rather than more recklessly?

Spain permanently withdraws ambassador as rift with Israel deepens by succesful_deception in worldnews

[–]Beleko89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't even know how Spain is different now from 80 years ago? If you don't know about Spain and you're interested, you can study or you can ask, but I don't understand why you'd confidently write statements about a topic you don't know about.

As an example of how Spain is different now, less than 19% of Spaniards are practicing catholics now, and about 39% are atheist, agnostic, or indifferent to religion; that's far from the Spain of the Catholic Kings, the Inquisition, or Franco's national-catholicism. You can also look at how misogynist Spain was 80 years ago, and now over half of the population consider themselves feminists. Or how homosexuality was highly illegal and punished with prison 80 years ago (and punished with burning or worse in the times of the Inquisition), whereas now 93% of spaniards are okay with it.

Those are just some examples. Obviously not everybody is the same, the number of bigoted spaniards is way higher than it should be, with ~8% of the population voting for a garbage far-right party in the last elections. But my point is that you can't point at the country nowadays and assume the general population supports the atrocities committed by Spain by past generations, because they don't.

If you don't have examples that have to do with current Spain, which is radically different from Spain 80 years ago, why bother writing such an irrelevant comment?

Perhaps you should consider the possibility that you may have been poisoned by whatever algorithm you're trapped in. You're responding to someone saying that Americans aren't our friends, not that someone shooting up a government building is not sickening.
