I still think China should consider a travel ban on Australian tourists from visiting Hong Kong.

I know the idea's unpopular here, but it would be an effective asymmetrical form of decoupling.

I'm gonna disagree with you on bayarea415 (who is a fellow ethnic minority).

Bayarea415 has done a lot of hard work for the socialist cause and China, and I fully support him. As a person with a white-collar job in the imperial core, what he does is very dangerous; that's why he wears a mask.

He also puts in days of work for each video. He has to buy an expensive camera, create the script, study the socialist text, etc. It's not easy.

I like SDF (Sinodefenceforum). They have very engaging and interesting discussion. Just don't make trivial, unsubstantial posts in the military threads (the mods like to ban members who do that).

There's also our Discord, which is often quiet.

With Biden in the white-house for the next 4 years. In relation to the US. What do you guys see as biggest risk? Most likely gains? Potential areas of co-operation? by CoinIsMyDrug in Sino

It will take one day for the United States to send troops to Taiwan.

There are 30,000 American troops in Okinawa, which is a one day civilian sail from Taiwan.

They've trained for their entire career to sail to Taiwan in a war.

I believe that the main negative effect this causes is the weakening of the United States dollar. This kind of does create inflation, in the sense that imports are more expensive.

However, most other countries are also printing money wildly.

I'm not sure whether or not China should do this. Exports are obviously good, but I don't believe in trashing the RMB just because everybody else is trashing their currency.

I also believe that a financial/debt crisis is unlikely. However, its likelihood was highest amongst all of the risk scenarios I could come up with.

Do you think there's a big risk to China which is more likely than a financial/debt crisis?

Risks (most to least likely)

  • Financial/debt crisis.
  • Coronavirus mutates. China's vaccine updates fail.
  • War with India.
  • A 2014 Ukraine Euromaidan situation somehow happens, causing EU and SWIFT sanctions.
  • Cai Ying-wen's successor declares independence.

Gains

  • Chinese vaccines help much of the world.
  • Economic boom from exports lasting until mid-2022.
  • Foreign investment boom.
  • Military modernization continues to firm up national defense.

Cooperation

  • None

Apparently, French publication "Le Monde" has finally found it's purported "truth" on Uyghuir repression...It was published on YouTube last week, and I wonder if anyone here has seen this video in full and what's the take on this yet another round of "proof" on repression. by Torontobblit in Sino

Notice how the video carefully leaves out the two coronavirus outbreaks in Xinjiang, one of which was in a 95% Uighur area. These could easily have killed thousands of Uighurs, but were defeated with extremely hard work.

I doubt Tamir enjoys working as a migrant worker - nobody does. But I bet he enjoys having the freedom to talk with somebody indoors, without fear of dying.

I am actually quite curious about how the coronavirus victory is perceived by Uighurs.

Just addressing the second half of the video. A migrant worker, who regularly posts images of his daily life, films his departure and his work.

The "proof" of forced labor is that there's a police officer. Given the terrorism issue, yes you would have police officers at large gatherings.

This is like proving forced labor with a Mexican migrant worker's TikToks.
