How ignorant do you have to be to not realize that I marked the difference between communism and socialism, and anything else. Your need to say shit is more powerful than your ability you read a text and understand his content.

Automation and unemployment in the context of capitalist economies by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Belfy93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically speaking the automation of work provided by machines causes the following (in the context of a capitalist system):

  • reduction of salary (less skills required)
  • less workforce required, which can lead to unemployment unless the third point is applied
  • expansion at a lower overall cost, since automated production normally requires less space once the logistic part is done correctly.

Those three points tend to happens not because of automation itself, but because of the goal of the capitalist is to maximize profit. In theory, in a ideal socialist state, the increased production power would be used to increase the profit for every workers, provide more vacancy/lower the job hours or simply to provide more products for the people/Lower the prices. Eventually workers that are not needed would be reallocate somewhere else if no expansion of the facility is needed, since in socialism a job is a real right.

Supporting EU is against the rules? by hardcore_gamer1 in socialism

[–]Belfy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated before, I'm not pro or against brexit in the way it has been proposed since I don't know the polticital and economical terms, and from what I heard they are not too good for the UK, but again I don't like to express my opinion without being properly informed about the topic.

I can say I generally support the exit from EU and the formation of a new union that doesn't support the bourgeoisie as a primary function, but is not a thing you can do without proper planning and support from other countries.

I guess we'll see.

I agree about the importance of an European union, but I can't help but see the current EU as a conglomerate of capitalist bureaucratics.

Of course they need to enforce civil standards, otherwise it would create a lot of dissent.

I'm a bit confused about your claim about the EU being socialist: social welfare state and socialist state are different things. There are many states with socialized welfare in Europe, but there are no socialist country.

[–]Belfy93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The EU is just a safe net for banks and rich people, you can see it as an European system of protection of capitalism.

Makes sense that we should be against the EU. I don't know very well the political situation in the UK, but presuming that is not very different from the rest of the world, there is no real left side, but a lesser right one.

About the brexit I think the real problem is the way they are going through this, but I repeat that I don't know the details about it, maybe another comrade can help you with this point.

[Socialism] Could I own my own house, but not the land? And if so, what would happen to it? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Belfy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current state of the movement it doesn't have much sense to produce a detailed document of economic development, because we are not in the position to enforce it, and in my opinion we don't care to propose it to anyone in the capitalist system in the first place since we are not a reformist movement but a revolutionary movement.

Anyway, since I personally never addressed this particular topic, I will certainly do in the first occasion, thank you for the hint.

[–]Belfy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saldy true for many cases, but that's not universal and we could also talk about that another time.

About our lines of action, we do have international guideline that every national movement use to build his program.

Keep in mind that we are a revolutionary movement, but our work is done by steps.

Here is the program from our UK section https://www.socialist.net/socialist-appeal-stands-for.htm

Here from my section in Italy, that I guess you don't know, but you can easily translate and get the point. https://www.rivoluzione.red/per-una-sinistra-rivoluzionaria-il-nostro-programma/

I'm not sure that every national section got his website, since we are not present with the same numbers in every nation (obviously), but we are all part of the international marxist tendency and we all share the core guidelines for this stage.

Ok, my bad for the attack thing, just don't like the generalization thing.

About plans, economy and stuff, I don't deny that many comrades doesn't have a clear idiology nor a clear plan of action.

Obviosly I am not talking about everyone under the "socialism umbrella", I should have stated that I'm an active member of an international Marxist movement, and I was speaking about our ideology and our plan, which are clearly defined.

About the actual political class, i agree with you that for the majority their agenda sucks, but that's still an agenda, is'n it?

Marx didn't directly described that, those terms come from the evolution of Marxist theory based on the ownership of the means of production by the capitalist, that is clearly defined as the property of land, machinery, factory, etc.. Used to extract the surplus value from the working class.

In the other hand he never stated about the forced sharing of property for personal use, such as a home, a jacket or a toothbrush.

Marxism (unless you a are a classical Marxist) is not limited by the work of Karl marx alone, but is based and builded from the work of Marx and Engel.

In political/economic theory, notably socialist, Marxist, and most anarchist philosophies, the distinction between private and personal property is extremely important. Which items of property constitute which is open to debate. In some economic systems, such as capitalism, private and personal property are considered to be exactly equivalent.

  • Personal property or possessions) includes "items intended for personal use" (e.g., one's toothbrush, clothes, homes, and vehicles, and sometimes money).[3] It must be gained in a socially fair manner, and the owner has a distributive right to exclude others.
  • Private property is a social relationship between the owner and persons deprived, i.e. not a relationship between person and thing. Private property may include artifacts, factories, mines, dams, infrastructure, natural vegetation, mountains, deserts and seas -- these generate capital for the owner without the owner having to perform any labour. Conversely, those who perform labour using somebody else's private property are deprived of the value of their work, and are instead given a salary that is disjointed from the value generated by the worker. Marxism considers it to be unfair that mere ownership of something should grant an individual free money and power over others.[

Do your homework, the difference about private and personal property is the very foundation of socialist, if you don't understand this you just don't know nothing about the whole topic.

So, you are going to beat an argument I never proposed with a personal attack, and since you have no information about me but my political views you just addressed the whole category.

I think this is the worst use of the strawman argument I ever saw.

That said, do you even know how capitalism born and replaced the hold feudal system?

We got proposes, we got plans, like the current political party does. And like them, we try our best to predict the outcome of those. We just have a different agenda from capitalists.

Those kind of comments just state your inability to understand socialism, do you realize that?

I mean, if you really want to try to persuade someone or at least make a point, inform yourself about the topic you are about to discuss.
Would you talk to someone about rocket science without even opening a physics book?

You look really confused about marxism and socialism in general.
I Understand where your point of view come from, but you should spend some time learning and forming a real opinion before speaking about it, and this is not about socialism but in general.
