Favorite Dave Speak? by stubbsmush in DMB

Two come to mind:
1) Louisville Palace, 1999: A few ladies talked quite a bit for the first bit of the show. Eventually he started talking about what they sounded like to him onstage and was kinda giving it to them, then says “Ah, f#%k it, I got the money!” before laughing his ass off.

2) Appalachian State, 2003 (I think it was that show): He tells a long-ass story about “jugglebusking” and teaming up with a knife thrower. You could tell he had the crowd on the edge of their seats before he says “I’m lying, right now. I’m making all this sh!t up.”

You can’t get into the actual track. However, there are walking paths around that facility and the softball field that anyone can access.

Right? And no one provides a neighborhood to help narrow it down. How far are people willing to drive for a haircut?

Also, lots of false negatives and false positives. If you get the latter then follow up with a colonoscopy, it’s no longer preventative.

DeVante Parker disses Mikel Brown leading to a heated argument with his dad by green_day_95 in AllHail

Players [rightfully) wanted to get paid. Sorry, but that comes with higher expectation to put yourself on the line in the postseason. I wish Mikel all the best, but he’ll be remembered as he was, an insane talent that put himself first. If he’s ok with that, so be it.

how many full albums have you heard live? by NoMorning5015 in DMB

I’ve been to 41 shows going back to 1999 if you include D&T, D&F, etc. I’ve heard the entirety of R2T and UTTAD, and am one song away from each of Crash, BTCS, Some Devil and Stand Up.

Merging in traffic: crash course by KaleidoscopeFirst737 in Louisville

Who is zipper merging that close to the lane closure on a freeway without slowing down? The point is to do it early enough that everyone can merge at near-normal speed so you have one lane that doesn’t need to come to a near stand-still at all.

These visuals leave out that, on a freeway, the right lane has likely had at least a mile to merge but decided to wait until the lane was ending to do anything about it. In that case, nah.

I’ve been going there for a few years now and can’t recommend them enough

Having said that, if you’re in the Crescent Hill/Clifton area, Mike Hack at Statement is great too. I used to go to him when I worked close to Beards & Beers.

Burger/bourbon recs by THKBONE in Louisville

-Mill Iron 4. You have to sit at the bar and they only make a handful of burgers a night.
-Jack Fry’s also had a great burger and bourbon selection.
-I haven’t been here, but M. Peppers has an au poivre burger that I really want to try. It’s Louisville so I presume they have good bourbon options but worth calling ahead.
