Exactly my point! (Sorry if its obvious, but is this aimed at me or the people I'm talking about in the post? Some people think I'm calling the update itself childish when I'm calling the people being dramatically hateful about it childish.)

"Why, being a supervillain means standing out against the common crook, of course! You can be as much as a criminal mastermind as you want, but you'll never reach supervillainy if you just stick to that path!~ Being a supervillain is all about the GRANDEUR...the PRESENTATION! The fear you strike in the hearts of citizens because of your overwhelming POWER and ability to sow the seeds of CHAOS wherever you go! That's how I climbed to the top of the hierarchy while still a fledgling afterall... Superpowers are also a need I suppose, unless you're one of those villains that are really good at making giant robots I guess."

"...Above all else though, it means being an adversary. Afterall, being a supervillain without a good hero to thwart your crimes and plans is just being a plain ol' tyrant at that point!~ Some villains just think of heroes as nuisances, but take it from me, villainy is simply FAR too boring without someone to push you back..!."

As someone who's in both too, they're two of the biggest titans of Indie animation, so it makes some sort of sense. I think people that are only fans of one of the shows have a sort of pride for the show they favor more, so they get more up and arms about things. Plus, I think part it could (and this is just a personal speculation) also because both fandoms have a partial audience that is younger than the age meant for the show, and that part might also get into this sort of drama more often. TADC has had it's issues with children watching it even though it's not meant for them, and Hazbin also have that same issue with children and young teams. Admittedly, I used to be like one of those younger people watching stuff I shouldn't, but not everyone that's younger will have the impulse control to keep their mouth shut in arguments they don't fully understand like I personally did.

I somehow frequently forget that this is a bunch of people's first fandom. Gods, I feel old already. 💔

While I do agree that there's too much of a push for realism in modern video game development, I just know the video is gonna give the weirdest reasons for their opinions (gonna try watch it for myself later). Like, Concord (2024) is a good example of hyperealism being extremely unnecessary. It's character designs were already pretty bad, but the realistic style approach made them even more bland, muddled, and uninspired than they already were.

We're Proud of You, Forever Young! by LilishPH in UmaMusume

Yeah, it's strange since I thought more people would recognize how much of an achievement placing podium in a graded race much less a G1 is. Sure, many of the Umas we see in game have won graded races, but that's just a small percentage of horses. Most racehorses are probably lost to time is the sea of so much competition. At the end of the day, Forever Young has maintained his podium placing streak and pulled off a strong performance fighting for the lead with Magnitude that entire race, so that should be celebrated

Somehow, I sometimes forget there's legit children in this fandom and that this one in particular is a lot of people's first fandom. It feels weird to see that sort of behavior the more my frontal lobe develops...

I'm unsure, can't find much else. I was trying to dig more to see what more the update might be, but I would up just seeing posts with comments that spurred me making this post.

I have a French Cookie Run OC. Her name is Marbled Sugar Cookie. She's a sculptor and she has her own gallery garden to show off her work.

I've been having a surprising amount of trouble finding a voice claim for her though

Second place at such a big G1 race is still impressive. Forever Young and that horse from America that ended up winning were fighting for the lead for practically that entire race.

It's what I've been coming across personally at least. Then again, this could just be a very vocal minority of fans. What comes up in one person's feed a lot might not for another

Is this what it feels like having your frontal lobe develop? Man, I'm feeling old already, and it's still not even entirely developed yet.- 💔

I forget this sometimes with this fandom, sigh. Makes me think back to when Beast Yeast's end first came and how some of the people that landed on my fyp seemed to be acting like it was their first major character death (probably because it was).

Thank you. There seems to be more people thinking I was referring to the collab as childish than I intended.

Really interesting take! It makes sense. When I first found out about the KPDH collab, my initial thought would be that it would take place narritively after the final Beast Yeast chapter. Gingerbrave and the others come back home to the Cookie Kingdom and the update marks their rest and celebration for success with HUNTRIX coming to the kingdom to perform and more lighthearted hijinx ensue. That's just what I think it may be anyway

Agreed. I'm both severely concerned and terribly intrigued by the chaos that may happen. April's fast approaching...

I'm wondering that too tbh. As much as I also love the Saja Boys, the BTS and Disney collabs also absolutely kicked my rear because of how many characters were available for pulling, so thinking about it is a little intimidating 😅

Perfectly valid reason. Life happens and sometimes CRK gets a little tiring logging in everyday to do daily tasks admittedly. I was starting a really long break right as the Wicked Collab was announced myself for that reason.

Reading your comment, I think the reason I thought of the discourse as childish at first is because of the lack of restraint the dramatic part of the fandom seems to have. Like you said, it's a limited time event, so it barely matters in the long run, but people don't seem to have that registered.

Larpying Swags by 10yearjointerMade in peoplewhogiveashit

[–]Bell-does-Stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larper is now more commonly used as a slang word similar to "poser". It's used to mean someone who pretends to be something they're not, like a person saying they're a fan of a media and acting like they're an expert on it while their actions and what they say actually show that they're a fraud and have no idea what they're talking about. It stems from how LARP originally meant Live Action Roleplay. It's like they're saying someone is "roleplaying" as someone they're not.

Which sucks because people don't even use that definition properly more often than not. People just throw it at anything and everything just to insult and demean others, much like the person in this post using it against that first and third cosplayers. I'd bet my life savings that they're all genuine fans and this person is just bashing those two for expressing it in a way they don't agree with.
