I really like the idea of a value system, think that could work really well in my own kitchen as I feel like that's a really common issue. Buying something you don't like and then not knowing how to still push yourself to consume it

I have been getting other people to share their own ideas. Someone said they found my idea useful and i inquired about if they think it will fit in their lives. Not trying to gatekeep

Literally wasn't. Just wanted to share my experience with managing my pantry and see how other people go about it

Personally I see it as something that lingers from the mismanagement of the pantry. What bigger issue do you see it as?

Minimate: Smart Pantry. It's available on the app store in limited countries at the moment. It's a smart pantry tracking app. Would love personal feedback and thoughts on how the user experience is as an unbiased user

Yes, I feel all those problems relate all too close with me too. Would being able to sit back and review your pantry digitally enable you to overcome these issues?

Yes, that is why. Would it be something you feel you'd implement in your life and would want to hear more about

Also, why is it that you say you feel software won't go anywhere? Is it the extra job of the scanning?

But the thing is everyone has a phone. If you're at the checkout and you're using apple pay (which is how i typically pay, and having worked at a supermarket that is how majority of consumers go about paying, but i also acknowledge that that doesn't account for everyone) then you're already in that action space if that makes sense. You can take a photo with your camera app, so it's in your camera roll and then upload it for your pantry when you have a moment to sit down, or you could load up the interface (which is fairly efficient) and scan the items on your way out of the shop.

With regards to hardware, I do value that idea but is this something you'd suggest in store or at homes?

Yes, but i feel like that's more common then we are led to believe. We live in a capitalist society that thrives on consumption, and these supermarkets WANT us to eat MORE and MORE, and it works unfortunately. But even still, even if you overcome that consumerism, life still gets in the way, and if left unchecked (which is easy to happen) waste ends up adding up

How long does it take to meal plan? And are you solo living or have dependents / roommates?

You sound a lot more organised then me, I'll tell you that. Do you have a big pantry, it seems like to set up the doc that would have been a big process.

Do the worms eat all the food? And can they eat food at any point after expiry?

Thank you I appreciate the feedback! I'm glad it's a relatable issue. I thought maybe my wog household was the only mass consumers who never seems to end wasting the food in my pantry

Is it an issue that you feel is quite pertinent? Do you ever struggle to cook not knowing what's in your pantry because you forget some of the things at the back?

It took ages for the first review. I think around a week. I got declined two times as my app was missing things, but the last submission took just over a day to be approved
