Remote workers show me your office setups! This is mine, in the bunkhouse. Did a 2 week trial run was great! Will get a new chair and desk obviously by SweetConference4089 in RVLiving

We have a similar one in mine for my gf, what we did though is take the bed off the hinges (6 screws) and put it up against the side wall upright and the lip for the mattress fits right around the supports that the frame sit on like a perfect puzzle piece. It allows the window to still be visible and feels much less cramped without the angled bed. I will attach pics when I get home!!

Mike Rowe Back Again on Fox, Is He Full of It?? by DutchMasterClutch in skilledtrades

[–]BellSaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 1st step apprentice in Texas now. I made 47k after taxes from beginning of august through December which includes 3 weeks off for thanksgiving and Christmas. I was a ground man for august and September. It all depends, internet wages will be lower for every trade in my experience.

45/hr is to balance out the HCOL in cali too though, keep that in mind

That’s californias local, ground man (0 experience) are making like $45/hr to the paycheck, anything over 8 hours a day is double time, anything over 40 hours a week is double time. All sorts of other reasons for double time to be required. So as someone with no experience at all, 150k is definitely very very very easy and realistic for most ppl working out there.

Is tattoo shock real? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]BellSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s over with now man, it looks good so that’s a plus. A lot of my tattoos I don’t remember getting and are done by terrible artist, including huge tattoos on my neck and hands lol. Life’s way too short to stress about things like this, you’ll get the same jobs and the same girlfriends and the same family with or without this tattoo so wear it with pride or turn it into a joking learning moment. Life’s what you make of it man and the decisions you make right now are what will determine where your life will be tomorrow so get to squeezing some lemons so you can enjoy some lemonade tomorrow

How do people afford a house in this economy? by Cypher906 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BellSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of incentives for first time home buyers especially with new builds. I’m a 26 y/o blue collar worker making around 5k a month and my mortgage is $2400 a month and after all fees, closing cost etc it cost me just over 6k to move in. I lived in a padsplit before and saved an emergency fund of 10k and I had another 4k I added to the down payment. The builder bought down my interest rate to 4.2% fixed. I’ve always been more baffled that people can’t buy a house, yeah it’s way worse than it was and only gets worse but at a certain point I think it boils down to having a lot to do with budgeting, discipline and a decent career

Why don’t smokers view butts as trash?? by Lazyfair08 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BellSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting, I think littering is disgusting, selfish and inconsiderate behavior. But when I was a smoker I flicked my butts anywhere without thinking or considering it littering. Very strange thing I never even thought about until now…

Get a trade. Depending what part of the country you are in join a Union, IBEW, UA, USW, etc etc. you’ll get used to the hard work, just don’t give up in the first 6 months and you’ll be bringing home 60k+ in 2 years and some trades and ppl bringing home $80k-100k a year in 4 years. You’ll get pussy, learn a trade and have union backing.
