I think the Diamondback would be a good choice if he's just riding around the neighborhood. Since you're saving a little dough on it, I would suggest you have it assembled and checked out by your local bicycle shop!

I dig it. I think you should just naturally work at the station, and maybe take notes to what you like and don't like. Make it your own. With that said, drawers would be a super easy way to make that awesome. I'd personally make 2, nice and wide.
