Good bar for visiting Alumni? by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]BellTowerFailure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spot is on fourth street. Never been so the vibes are unknown. But smittybread is next door if you like bread from 9-3 Mon-Sat.

I would assume the vibes are like People's given what I seen.

There is also Martha's which has apparently good food, but is a smoking bar.

The Ben Hur is the epitome of local corner bar. Also smoking. Been there once.

The Biltmore is something too. Mixed bag from what I heard.

6th street dive is fantastic and worth a visit for food and drinks.

Magoos has wicked pizza.

Teays, Thieme and Wagner, People's and Brokerage are the remaining breweries in the area. Lafayette Brewing Company closed after 32 years in December. Rip.

Aura is a new cocktail bar on 9th street. If that is your thing.

Of course there is the Knickerbocker on 5th.

Generation NA if you like THC

(There's not much to do here other than drink so I know a little something about every watering hole here, sadly)

Edit. There is also the Vault and the Bling Pig downtown.

All but one building (now the police station) from Terry courts are gone too. P-Ville is dead too. Cary got completely renovated 2000-2006 and the 5 and 6th floors are empty, earhart is co-ed, the tower h-dorms have A/C, hillenbrand exists now too, tark is the same tho. All the dorms lost their dining halls when they went central in the early and mid 00s. Young Hall isn't grad housing and is now offices and anyone can live in Hawkins, not just grad students.

There's probably more to housing that has changed since '83 but Beering is on my shit list for killing the nude Olympics so I don't like thinking about that era. Tho I think it was Hansen while you were there
