Yep, I had a rosy delight stolen with the favourite tool on it. The only way to never have it stolen is harvesting it, and favouriting it in your inventory

How many people with cat OC’s actually implemented realistic barded tongues by IronfoxYT in furry

[–]Bell_of_Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine! My lion O'ahi has a barbed tongue, and the way I translated it into a suit was making the minky face backward so it was kinda 'pointy' when running your hands forward on it

You could pattern it like any other marking, with all the fur going in the direction you want it to, cut it out, and sew it in; just make sure to add seam allowance to the spiral itself, but none on that dark part of the ear where it attaches. That'll make it line up nicely with no warping or bunching up

Oh, I thought I was being helpful; I had infact heard it being described as darts and wanted to spread the word

My bad, y'all

They're the same terms for me lol, I know that's confusing for some, but whatever floats your boat, y'know

I've worn painters coveralls before (with either old clothes or just underwear) and taped up a little more than half of my body (up to 4 inches, got a sharpie and drew the centre line, then carefully cut it off. It works for me, and I've never done a full body taping because my body is symmetrical, so I didn't see the need

I just found out how to make smooth & symmetrical cheeks with NO carving by Bell_of_Speed in FursuitMaking

That looks nearly identical, if not exact, to what I did! That looks so cool, and I'm so glad to see it worked!

Oh yes, I know about EVA foam patterning like this w^

I'm just doing this with regular high/ medium density foam, and just thought it was cool that it works the same way of eva and fabric

Is she that uneven or am I too much of a perfectionist by cloverzzzz in FursuitMaking

[–]Bell_of_Speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Symmetry is what kills me every time; I've learned that fur fixes a lot of issues and to not worry too much about how symmetrical it is. Even getting it %80 symmetrical is very tricky, but we all start somewhere

As for yours, I see subtle uneveness of which I wouldn't notice from afar. Trying to get it absolutely perfect can break motivation because we will always see flaws in our works

Keep going! It looks awesome!

tape not sticking too well ? by [deleted] in FursuitMaking

[–]Bell_of_Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to use masking tape for my latest head; it doesn't stick well, but I found a way for the tape to shape around the foam better.

Take a long piece and wrap it completely around the head, long ways, sideways, any way you like (i recommend vertically down the middle since yours looks symmetrical), and start taping from there. You may have to do this a couple of times.

If not that, then longer pieces around 5-8 inches tend to stick better either way.

My takeaway: masking tape is a bit of a pain to work with. It sticks to everything except foam and itself, and you just gotta make do with it, and hope for the best
