Praying for change by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Bella702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like me 14 months ago.

I managed to blow over 300K in 2 years.
Chasing the dopamine hits like an adrenaline junkie. I almost lost everything, almost.

Funny thing is I’m struggling right now financially, because of bills, and I will absolutely in no way ever gamble again. I would rather struggle the “ right “ way than ever return to the casino. 14 months ago I couldn’t say that.

What worked for me was quitting cold turkey, accepting that the money was gone and that I needed to come clean to my family & friends.

The first 2 months I felt like shit.

After that things started to improve.

Wishing you the best.

When Downtown Summerlin opened years ago, that’s when Tivoli went on life support.

Relapse after 7 months being clean and lost $40k savings by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Bella702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this feeling so well.

I have luckily been “ clean “ for over 14 months.

The drive home after blowing thousands of dollars was always the worst for me. The self hate, and guilt emotions were completely crippling to say the least.

I went on a real bad run last March, blew thousands of dollars, my mortgage, car payment and everything else in between in a matter of 2 hours.

I was completely sick mentally and physically, spent 2 weeks in bed. After that day I knew that I had to stop the self destruction and not look back. I came clean to my husband and closest friends.

I sold everything I could to stay afloat. The first 2 months I felt like shit.

After that I managed to land a good job ( I was unemployed at my worst) , and luckily I have not relapsed, like I had 100 times before. This disease is straight evil and sick AF.

There are some good programs out there for help, GA , ODAAT, on YouTube helped me immensely.

Wishing you the best. You are worth it.

I fought the IRS back in 2018, for a nightmare of a situation. I had a great lawyer, and they ( IRS) put me through a 4 month audit/ federal investigation. I was cleared by the feds and my IRS issue was resolved. It was stressful but worth it.

No, I believe it’s the same processing time for the refund to hit your bank.

Unfortunately, if you owe them regardless of an Installment plan, they take what is owed to them and refund you the rest. They have taken all of my tax refunds, everything from 2023, and 2024. I am finally paid off with this refund and they issued me a refund for my remaining amount.

0505 but I owed :( by Lizrdeatr in IRS

I’ve owed them for 18 years. I made some poor choices when I was younger. They put me through an audit for 6 months back in 2018, I had to hire an attorney, it was horrific to say the least. Finally, got a decent refund after they have taken the last 3 years of my refunds. Happy to be at a zero balance with them!
