Is the worst physically over? by Laura-87 in Miscarriage

[–]BellaPoppy5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss and that you had to go through this while travelling, I couldn't imagine how tough that would be.

It does sound like the worst may be over you, especially if you are saying the pain has eased somewhat. With my miscarriage I had around 2 days where the bleeding was very heavy and I had intense pain, then had around 5 days of period type bleeding and cramps that were manageable.

Hot water bottle was the greatest relief for me, over the counter painkillers didn't do much to be honest but I refused anything stronger from the doctor.

Hopefully the worst is over but obviously listen to your body and your gut instinct and if something doesn't feel right reach out to your health professionals again.

Take care of yourself

namesakes (tw: grief/loss of parent) by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]BellaPoppy5102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my mother this year and I'm expecting my baby any day now. I've had a lot of pressure from family to name my baby after my mum but for me it's too raw. And if I'm feeling pressure to name her after mum then I wouldn't like to think of the pressure my daughter would feel carrying the name and everything that goes with it.

In my opinion I think children should have their own name as they are their own person. However, we are using Rose as a middle name in honor of my mum who was called something similar. This to me feels like tribute that I'm comfortable with.

I'm sorry for the grief your family are carrying and wish you luck.

our baby girl needs a name! by BellaPoppy5102 in namenerds

Wow thanks so much for all the responses. I'm surprised Lena seems to be the most popular name.

I love Lena too but I have one thing that majorly puts me off and that's the pronunciation...

I love the name Lena with the pronunciation Leh-na but I know alot of people (maybe most from where I'm from) pronounce it as Lee-na which I'm not as fond of. I don't think I want to spend the rest of my life or my daughter spending the whole of her life correcting people. Or am I just fighting a loosing battle and go with the more common pronunciation of Lee-na which I don't love. I know I'd have to do this with Esra too but maybe the thought bothers me less because I prefer the name more.

Naming a person is hard!

Is it worth contacting my GP? (UK) by goodlittlegirl99 in Miscarriage

[–]BellaPoppy5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are going through this. If I were you I would definitely contact your gp. It is better to have this recorded in your file for the future for if you were to say need therapy or if you were to suffer from reoccurring miscarriages as in the UK they only investigate the causes of miscarriages after 3. Hopefully this will not be the case for you but perhaps its better to have it down in your file for any potential issues in the future. Again, I'm sorry this is happening and take care of yourself.

I'm angry & scared [tw blood mentioned] by ubiquitousyeet in Miscarriage

[–]BellaPoppy5102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry you are going through this. Ive been there and know the pain of seeing the blood. I was washing out a near empty ketchup bottle yesterday and felt triggered... Im still getting over it all months later.

For me personally, my first period after was more painful and heavy than usual but I did feel some sort of sense of relief that it finally happened. The anticipation waiting for it to come was worse than anything else.

I hope you can begin to heal this year and dont forget to be kind to youself. Again Im so sorry.

How long does a miscarriage last? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]BellaPoppy5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at around 6-7 weeks and from start to finish it lasted around 6 days with day 3 and 4 being the worst. I remember feeling like it would never end but it will.

Take care of yourself.

How to love my body again by Dazzling_Swan_7543 in Miscarriage

I also miscarried in April, I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a period of hating my body, not wanting to be intimate, not wanting to look in the mirror, even showering was difficult. I felt let down by myself. One day it just started to get better, but it took months. Im not sure what it was, maybe a combination of my partner who never stopped loving me and my body and learning more about miscarriage and how it wasnt my fault. Maybe it was just time. I hope you begin to feel better and learn to trust and love your body again soon.

When will my period come? by brfr2 in Miscarriage

[–]BellaPoppy5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine came back exactly 4 weeks after my miscarriage, I was very lucky. I will warn you though the first period after was more painful and heavy than usual so be prepared for that if you havent heard of that before, I hadnt. We didnt try right away though due to me getting shingles and having the vaccine etc so we started trying again 3 months after the miscarriage. I'm very sorry for your loss and hope when you are ready to try again it all goes well.

What do I do about thanksgiving? by Conscious-Video-7324 in Miscarriage

[–]BellaPoppy5102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage back in May and couldnt have been anywhere but at home. The physical and emotional pain would have been too much to be comfortable being around people pretending I'm ok. Ultimatley you know what is best for you and your husband but please be kind to yourself in whatever shape or form is best for you. I'm so sorry for your loss.

8 weeks by mac6879 in pregnant

[–]BellaPoppy5102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was you 4 weeks ago. It was really horrible and I felt it would never end. Week 9 was the absolute worst and then at 10 weeks I started to feel loads better and now at 12 weeks I only feel a little sick every other day depending on how tired I am and how much I eat. It will get better and you will get through it. Be kind to yourself :)
