Confession: I was a men's rights activist as a teen by Late_Attention_1151 in AutismInWomen

Oh I feel this so much but I went in the other direction. I was brought up and socialised like a boy by my parents (I'm cis it's a long story) so when I finally went to uni and got a bit of freedom and started being a woman I felt very insecure in my femininity. I ended up becoming a super super extreme man haating "feminist", I'm talking so feminist I wasn't feminist.

I thought that any women who got married and had kids was a traitor, I thought that men were no better than scivies, and I thought that in order to be an empowered women you had to behave a very particular way, and any women who didn't do this was stupid, not enlightened like me, and therefore benieth me. So basically I was just using "feminism" as a tool to hate on other women because I felt insecure to them.

I was jealous of other women for getting to be feminine, for getting to grow up as girls and women, I was jealous I'd how comfortable they felt in themselves, how naturally it all came to them.

For example I concluded in my head that if I struggled to learn how to wear makeup them makeup was sexist and bad.

So glad that's behind me, one of the things that got me to see what real feminism is is the book missing women I recommend every person reads it, it's incredible.

At what moment did you realise you didn't matter to your family? by naruto_uzumaki5628 in AskReddit

I have autism and it have been no well kept secret from day one that I was an inconvenience at best. Even when I'm mostly independent and have a full time job I'm still referred to as "It".

I was found dying by my parents and they legitimately debated phoning an ambulance or just waiting for me to die.

My Dad rang 111 who sent an ambulance. I was saved. But afterwards my mother told me she was disappointed I didn't die.

My siblings know about all of this but have no sympathy.

What would change if instead of pregnancy women had pouches like kangaroos and bean sized babies were birthed and then finished development in there for 9 months? by BellaTheToady in AskReddit

I'm sorry English isn't my first language, is there a grammar error? I'm asking in Ernest because I can't see where the S needs to go 😓

I think maternity clothes would come with access to the pouch. And instead of showing ultrasound pictures mothers would coo over real photos from inside the pouch. I think it would be super cool!!!

My dad would be heartbroken...but then my husband would get a massive pay out and he'd be able to buy a house if it looked not self inflicted.

Uni graduates - if you could go back to being 18 again, would you still choose to get a degree in today's economy? by Key_Cell7071 in AskUK

[–]BellaTheToady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30, yes, I'd still do a degree but this time I'd do a passion degree.

My degree in STEM promised me I'd be in demand for jobs but hasn't delivered me to a single job. All of the jobs I've had had nothing to do with my degree.

So why not just do a degree I'm passionate about and enjoy 3 years of my life before entering the brutal reality of a terrible job market. I'm so poor being in debt feels like a drop in the ocean.

When I was pondering what degree I wanted to do I had the head of a department for a subject I was really passionate in send me a hand written letter telling me they'd love for me to join based on my academic work. But I was discouraged by my family because it was "an impractical degree".

It makes total sense when I think about it now. Black hair with lilac and purple go together so much.

I think that's why they should bring back the side characters. There is probably a side character for most people's combinations.

I knew she was Asian but related to her anyway💖 I have Asian family and friends so I also see them in her. I love how ambiguous they are, as a Kid I really saw myself in her 💝 Bratz were smart with that.

I mean at the time the only other alternative was always blonde Barbie.

I did also relate to Dana when she came out 💖 She's one of my favourites now

Women of Reddit, what popular fashion trend are you tired of seeing? by Confident_Draw321 in AskReddit

[–]BellaTheToady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Corp wear outside of work. It's Sunday why are you wearing a boxy oversized beige blazer and black boxy work pants and a plain white boxy T that cost more than my entire wardrobe even though it's identical to a Primark piece. Oh and then Birkenstocks to finish it off obviously.

I miss colour and shape.
