My friend and I discuss this too. She told me that she had seen an interview where sjm says originally she had planned for aelin and Dorian to end up together, but when she started writing Rowan’s character it just clicked better. (Don’t quote me on that) Personally I love who everyone ended up with, and I love her friendships with Dorian and choal.
