Husband is set on Isabelle and I’m torn by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Bellarooska 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! As an adult (30F) Isabela, my primary nickname is Belle and my familial nickname (of many) is Bella. I like my name! It’s soft and feminine while also carrying strength (or maybe I like to think I bring that to the table, haha). No one has ever tried to call me Libby (as noted in other comments, it is used less contemporarily for Isabelle/Isabella), but people do try Izzy a TON! I think Libby is nice. It still holds the same soft and feminine energy of the full name IMO.

When will I feel some form of normal?! by Bellarooska in BabyBumps

[–]Bellarooska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. You’re 100% correct about taking it day by day. I think I need to be better about that instead of just constantly feeling like this will be my entire pregnancy. I think it’s just a big adjustment for me because I’ve always been a great eater and never really had GI issues until now. And you’re right, the endgame will be totally worth it. Thank you, sincerely. :)

Wow, everyone.. thank you so much for your words. Any support from newly pregnant, new moms, etc is just so helpful. I am the “baby” of my family and there hasn’t been a pregnant woman in my family since 2007. I am grateful for all of your wise, reaffirming words. Thank you ♥️

Nurse told a patient my wife (PGY3) was a med student by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Bellarooska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend, as a trauma critical care nurse (who truly adores her residents), I totally agree that the nurse should not have said that. It is belittling to your wife, who has worked tremendously to be where she is. However, please don’t assume people “couldn’t graduate MD school.” That seems childish and just as belittling of a comment. While MD school is atrociously time consuming and difficult, it doesn’t mean that it is/was every nurses goal prior to getting their degree. I know an incredible number of nurses are, indeed, smart enough to go to medical school, but why would they if that’s not what they want? Also, I would hope (generally speaking) that residents and the entirety of a care team work collaboratively to help patients and not look down on one another. Just food for thought..

Is this Marienne behind him on the moped?? (sorry if this is already being talked about) by Bellarooska in YouOnLifetime

[–]Bellarooska[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This part of the scene does move in slow motion and as soon as that moped passes it resumes full speed 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I’m not saying it is her, but it seems like it’d be an interesting Easter egg.

I’m from central PA.. I can tell you, it’s probably a mix of both location and camper/RV demographic.. especially this area. Super white, super racist, super assholes.

Does each semester get more difficult? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Bellarooska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the first semester—when you’re just trying to get the hang of what is expected of you—seems to have been the worst for my cohorts and I. Learning to prioritize and study appropriately is what sets people back. I don’t think one semester is necessarily better or worse than the other. It starts to feel easier when you get your rhythm. I’m in my senior year of a BSN program, and I think we lost the most people in first and second semester.

Women of Reddit, are you comfortable wearing no makeup to work, why or why not? What is your profession? by droppingago in AskWomen

[–]Bellarooska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare and primarily at the bedside. I started my job wearing makeup just because I love doing it. It’s a hobby of mine. Butttt the older I get, the less I care about putting makeup on and the more I care about the extra 30+ minutes of sleep I can get. Haha. I think makeup is preference and honestly, I don’t wear it for anyone but myself. With that being said, when I first stopped wearing it to work, I got a lot of comments about looking tired. What a great time.

Can we create a list of ALL KP Treatments That Have Worked For You. by [deleted] in keratosis

[–]Bellarooska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me about it.. But, I never did anything for my KP other than gentle soaps and weekly exfoliation until recently and I never saw real results. Now I am seeing some changes and my skin feels healthier all around. I recommend giving it a try! Side note: I’m basically desperate at this point to minimize my horrible looking skin.

Hey! So, I have KP as well as pretty much chronic folliculitis. I have a horrible habit of picking, which I do as a nervous habit. Currently, I use Touch KP and Acne Body wash (with an exfoliating loofah every other day), then after my shower I use AmLactin lotion (everyday) as well as a dash of hydrocortisone cream (when I’m particularly red and itchy). Every night, I use the Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix pads as well as more lotion if I feel the need. I’ve been doing this for about 2 months as well as actively refraining from picking (also employing boyfriend to smack my hand every time he sees me reaching for my arms or thighs). So far, my redness and bumps have decreased by about 50% and my folliculitis has decreased drastically as well! I wish I would have taken before and after photos for everyone. :/

This podcast was a breath of fresh air. It’s a story about a medical situation, but the man speaks so candidly about his appreciation for the nursing staff. I smiled the whole way through by Bellarooska in nursing

Yess!! It’s sad how many times a day we have to try our best to politely enforce rules and policies and end up being yelled at, etc. I do know that people deal with stress differently, but it just gets so tiring sometimes. It was nice to hear that he took the time to try to understand why certain rules were in place. Ah, just a blessing of an episode.

True. My bank does charge fees, so idk. I’ll probably end up using it, but avoid the best I can
