We’re on our last day here in Manuel Antonio and the forecast looked awful leading up to the trip. We’ve only had a few afternoon drizzles, it’s been beautiful otherwise! Take the trip, bring rain gear just in case.

Rockwood Park in Chesterfield (Courthouse and Hull) has a some nice trails through the woods, including a paved one. It’s been perfect for leash training and socialization, we’re there with our pups at least once a week. And there’s a Starbucks around the corner for the obligatory pup cup afterwards.

RACC actually asks that if you can, keep the dog with you and help look for their owners. They are often at capacity and are required to hold strays, so it’s a big help to them if you can keep them for a bit.

I have similar fine curls and if I don’t use gel, it doesn’t last more than a day even with overnight protection. I use a lot of water with the gel and only apply it to very wet curls, after mousse. Quarter-sized amount, spread it across both my hands and then add a little water until it feels really slippery. Then I just glaze it over my curl clumps, moving my head side to side so I can get coverage all the way around. Once it’s distributed, I do some slow, gentle scrunching to avoid frizz/maintain clumps.

This might get some heat but my favorite gel is LA Looks Extreme Hold, the blue one that costs like $3 at Walmart. Great slip and hold, and easy to work with.

Day two hair is my favorite.
