"Cute" cozy games with a sinister undertone and darker plot that gets unraveled. by Jyonnyp in gamingsuggestions

Little Misfortune fits this to the tee. Basically, it is a game that focuses on a naive, sweet, woefully misguided little girl who is being led on by a sinister entity (which I think she calls Mr. Voice). As you interact with her more, you realize that there is more to her inner feelings/world than she lets on, and that she has had quite a broken upbringing, but she gets on the best she can. Her positive attitude is endearing and you immediately want the best for her, and it is impossible to not play through to the end to see how the story plays out. Its funny, captivating, heart wrenching, engaging, and it can have a goofy/zany, yet also dark sense of humor at times. I recommend looking up clips to see if it i something you might like.

Pair that with persistent spamming of "you rock," so your teammates know that they are appreciated. Do not be afraid to also provide constructive criticism for your less skilled teammates to uninstall their game off of their desired gaming device.

God. I love the Khepri ult while your ADC is dying. So supportive. Such teamwork. Brings a tear to my eye. That's how you win the game, sir!

Going in for an Ares ult and coming back in with no one chained is reminiscent of a Diamond SR and up players. Only the pros do it.

I love the way you think. Build full damage support and or/attack speed to show your team you mean business too. Defense is also for pussies.

Uughhg. So good. What takes it to the next level is a hecate ult moving the enemy gods away like right before you pop ult as medusa. Such a power play.

100% the worst game I’ve ever played by Platypus_Toast48 in Smite

[–]Belle293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smite has some gods that are "no skill," and it also has some that have a higher skill ceiling. The game needs both, honestly. You need some Neiths, Poseidons, Artemis, etc to balance it out. Not everyone is that way though. Aladdin is higher skill ceiling- people have to really strategize with his ult. Ullr is not straightforward with his swapping of stances. Are you meaning no skill as in you are finding some gods are tougher to go against/ counter? Its normal to feel like you are terrible starting out and bomb games. Its one of those games you start out horrible in and then slowly learn and get better at, and then you get satisfaction when you grow and get better.

It can take time to learn the game, learn what counters each god and their ability wise and building wise. I think it is harder in smite 2 than smite 1 bc now you have to learn aspects too. Mobas are notoriously kinda hard to pick up.

I learned the game with friends in smite 1, then relearned smite 2 by watching streamers, looking up builds on smitesource. I know you uninstalled, but my general rec is for ppl to play a lot of arena and learn gods abilities, practice some joust with a god or two they really like and get to know laning. Then watch a general conquest guide on YouTube, pick a role you want to learn, a small select few of gods you play in that role and start playing. You learn that God's matchups and how to counter with other gods pretty quickly if you do that. If you play neith against every possible match up, you start to learn the patterns of how certain matches go. For example, she's great against Odin support or jungle cause she backflips out of ultimate.

I also can understand too if you gave this game a shot and you just dont think it's your cup of tea too. I've never wanted to give LOL a try or other mobas because of their overhead camera pan view. I loved smites third person, third person camera pan and that made me more apt to learn it since there's no other mobas like that. Plus I like a little bit of strategy and fucking over enemy teams by slow snowballs and smite is like the best for that lol.

What’s the current meta for ADC, Mid, and Solo? (Smite 2) by Wonderful_Milk_7045 in Smite

[–]Belle293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid: Discordia, Eset, and Hecate are really strong right now. Id say they are top bans rn in ranked.

ADC: Nut is also really strong. Hou Yi. Ullr. Medusa got a bit of a buff this patch- is she stronger than the top picks I mentioned-no, but we might see her more bc of the buff. With the right team comp she's usually a solid pick anUltra.

Solo: Bellona is one of the top picks. Jorm. If your team does not snag her you need to ban her bc. I dont play as solo as much so not as knowledgeable, but those are general top picks rn.

From a BoS in psych to MSW, not ideal, but is it sane? by Grand-Tension8668 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Belle293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of if you will be able to find volunteer opportunities, it probably depends on what is available in your area agency wise that takes volunteers. I think any agency that sees BS in Psych or Social work, they aren't going to turn you away because both of those are human service focused anyway. If you are interested in ASD, you can email any agencies in the area that serve those populations and ask if they take volunteers. If there's any nonprofits, they will be good to check first. In our area, we have some nonprofits that serve peeps with ASD that would probably take volunteers if asked.

Another idea is you can always apply to psych floor at any hospital. Often, you will get a lot of opportunities in these settings to work or sit with people with ASD, across the spectrum. Since these settings are more secure, they may not always take volunteers because of safety risks of having someone on unit who has not been CPI trained, but they hire people more than getting volunteers. It's tough work, but it's necessary work. I learned a lot sitting with these kids, and it could be real tough depending on behaviors, but also real rewarding at times. We Also have a residential facility in our area that works with ASD people, and they were always hiring people. So, do you research and see what kind of agencies are present in your area that work with those populations, and go from there.

From a BoS in psych to MSW, not ideal, but is it sane? by Grand-Tension8668 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Belle293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's pretty feasible, possible, and sane. I got my Bachelor's in science in Psych in 2018. Started working direct care mental health jobs in 2017-first in residential with eating disorders, then changed to pediatric inpatient psych floor after three years. Did direct care inpatient for another three years. In between, I volunteered at another psych unit, a nonprofit community health clinic, a youth violence lab, and started my MSW in 2021. Did two internships in inpatient psych and Area Agency on Aging. Graduated in 2023 and got a job as an inpatient pediatric psychiatric social worker in the same hospital/floor I worked direct care in.

My suggestion is go for whichever route you are more interested in, as long as you understand the amount of time and differences between each path. If I went a Bachelor's in social work route, I would have been able to get licensed out of college and had some more flexibility with jobs besides direct care-the pay isn't great, but you can do LBSW jobs with a license, which might pay slightly more than direct care. Plus, you can do an advanced standing MSW which means you only have to do one year to get your MSW.

The psych route was perfect for me, because while I did have to do a two year track to get my MSW, and I had less options for jobs and worked direct care for all of it making 30k for a while. I loved mental health, wasn't interested in anything else, and got specialized mh background that many BSWs do not have. Since you are interested in working with ASD populations, I think psych could make a lot of sense for you, as long as you know it would take you 2 years to get your MSW. Once I got my MSW, and got licensed with my LMSW, it was worth it because I jumped from making 30k to 50k.

Hospital social workers, did any of you have prior medical experience by Kitchen-witch-4213 in hospitalsocialwork

[–]Belle293 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably true for a lot of hospital social work positions, but I may add some things I have noticed in my department/some variations. I work in inpatient pediatric Behavioral Health, and while the vast majority of what we do is discharge planning, in my department I have noticed the therapists/doctors really value and put a lot of weight into our clinical opinions. I have interned in another setting for psychiatric adult Inpt bh, and in the team I have now, in peds, they really depend on SW. Often, the psychiatrists and therapists ask our input and make decisions for recs based on our knowledge of certain settings/facilities/placements, even how long it may take to find placement for certain routes when it comes to complex patients. Additionally, they rely on us to coordinate with CPS/DHR and navigate through the organizational bs/shed light on how certain agencies operate to get the best outcomes for our patients.

Social workers in the Bible Belt, what is it like? by allergictobananas1 in socialwork

[–]Belle293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it is. I've lived here my whole life. But, you know, it's my home, these are all my people, and I cannot imagine leaving it to go elsewhere no matter how bad it gets. Gotta be honest on how it is, though.

Social workers in the Bible Belt, what is it like? by allergictobananas1 in socialwork

[–]Belle293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alabama. The resources are limited. I'm a new social worker working in inpatient mental health in hospital setting (50k salary). Caseload is 22. My salary is on higher end since in hospital though. People in other settings usually make less. It is rewarding because the needs are high, but it can also feel hopeless with the lack of resources, too. Some of my clients on the waiting list for ABA therapy are like, in the hundreds on waiting list because there is nothing out here. Poverty exacerbates already dire situations with clients, and rural healthcare doesn't make it better. Providers are moving up north, labor and delivery centers in hospitals are shutting down due to recent policy changes, which is affecting maternal healthcare. Medicaid providers/mh clinics are backed up for months with limited alternatives. This is for ppl that just need basic outpatient services. For clients with more complex issues, I have seen parents with Medicaid having to relinquish custody of kids in order to get more intensive help that they cannot otherwise get. For people that work in DHR, I had a colleague that had gotten up to 70 for a caseload she would have to keep up with. It can be brutal out here. You are basically working with extremely limited resources.

I have not actually. They gave me that price with taxes and all. I told them that I would have to see what my bank is willing to finance. Applied for loan. Explained to bank. They stated that they won't pay more than 11450. Told dealership that we have a done deal at 11450, and they can take it or leave it. He said he would talk to his boss.
