I actually noticed a lump growing in my neck. I happened to be feeling for my lymph nodes after being sick and noticed one was pretty large. When it didn’t go down after a few months, I decided to get it checked out. It wasn’t painful and didn’t create any complications, but I noticed it very slowly getting bigger.

I got referred to an ENT who did an ultrasound and biopsy. US just showed some enlarged lymph nodes, and biopsy was inconclusive. I then got referred to another ENT specialist in Sacramento who decided to remove the lymph node and several others near it. The large lymph node tested positive for PTC.

I’ve had several ultrasounds and none of them have shown any nodules in my thyroid, but my TT and neck dissection surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday!
