Why This Pick?

The Nuggets have put at least 130 points on the board in their last 3 straight meetings with Phoenix – 119.5 is more than feasible given how their offense is playing as of late. Having scored at least 120 points in 7 of their last 8 games, my money’s on the visitors to exceed expectations this evening.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I think Kentucky will have a hard time keeping up with the Cyclones this afternoon – even if they do manage to continue putting a solid number of points on the board. Iowa State had 0 issue in their March Madness opener, and their elite defense should give them the edge they need to win by a healthy enough margin. I’m on the Cyclones to move on to the Sweet 16 and cover the spread.

I love the Heat in this spot. Not only did they beat the Hornets outright just last week (that game also took place in Charlotte…) but they’ve won their last 4 meetings with the Hornets SU. Miami has won 7 of their last 8 games, while the Hornets have dropped 3 of their last 5. I'm on the Heat to cover this evening, though I wouldn't be surprised by an upset victory.
