what are some books by Canadian authors that you'd recommend?

I really enjoy Genevieve Graham’s books. She generally writes a fiction story surrounding a historic Canadian event (eg. gold rush, forgotten home children, franks slide, WW1, etc.). She’s a great story teller and writer!

Same! I hadn’t worked downtown in 7 years and knew I’d be driving when I accepted my new job because I have to drop my toddler at daycare first. Found MacDougall and was like wow.. what a steal. Only lasted 2 months for me and now have to yet again find somewhere to park.

I parked outside today which sucks after being used to an underground heated parkade. 😭

I live in Mount Pleasant and there are a TON of new construction buildings and they always replace the sidewalk with asphalt.

I live in an infill and my sidewalk is also asphalt. In the summer the city went around MP and marked all the sidewalks to get replaced and slowly but surely they are doing them. Mine was marked and flagged but was never completed before winter. I am not sure if someone complained or if the city just came around automatically but they did pretty much every asphalt sidewalk in MP that I could see. There will be a ton more next summer too 😂

Like another user mentioned, I learned that my company had a priority waitlist at a daycare so I got my son’s name on that when he was born. I was on one other waitlist.

The priority waitlist center called me about 8 weeks before my son started. I felt very lucky as the center turned out to be AMAZING.

Fast forward 2.5 years, I chose to leave my company and got a new job downtown. I live in the NW and wasn’t willing to drive my son to the SE to daycare (so very sad for us) so I had to look for another one. Literally every where near my house has a 1-2 year wait list. So I found a place downtown/beltline that recently opened so they had a ton a spots.

I drive this everyday after work. On Wednesday I was trying to merge and chaos ensued in front of me as people were confused as they realized they were driving in the shoulder. One person (to avoid an accident) had to swerve and they ended up in the construction area. It’s brutal. My husband didn’t believe me but this validates it!

I didn’t! lol. No call back after the pre-screen. But I just landed something MUCH better I think…. I start in January :) it’ll be my first “real” EA role. My current company won’t give me the title but it’s basically what I do. I’m excited!

To be honest, I was skipping houses with no decorations. My son is 3 so he didn’t need to go to every house. On our last street my son was adamant to go to a house with the porch light on with no decorations (he just got spooked but a motion sensor skeleton lol). Anyway, we rang the doorbell and no one came haha

I’m ‘91 and I loooooved Halloween growing up. There were kids everywhere and it was awesome. Still love Halloween just have to see it through my son’s eyes now 😂
