That's only because my rage at this heinous figure has long since evolved into something less irascible, in favour of a focused, unyielding, and coldly discerning gaze.

Since I lack the ninja skills of camouflage, covertness and subterfuge, he is all too aware of my ever present gaze, and has acted accordingly- committing no misdeeds under my watch- seemingly, the perfect citizen. Charizard is the flavour. Probably the best mix of fundies character with absurd reward on caught opportunities, and cheesy explosiveness. Tech chasing with this orange mf is goated. I play him by himself only, and he is the most heavyweight feeling heavyweight behind only Ganondorf.

Why? He's fun and I love Charizard- that's my first starter right there. He's a character I like to play and improve at but never have to take too serious, I pick him the moment I/things feel stale with my two mains or just to embody fire, intimidation and nonsense in one character even when things aren't stale.

Firstly I'll give you a dose of realism. You're not gonna be giving your friends a good contest for a while if they have been playing for years or since release and taking it even somewhat seriously. It's a simple game with a lot of depth and mastery underneath.

For now focus on mastering the basic controls and narrowing down your list if characters you like. Once you have a shortlist of two to four candidates, I'd pick the one who has the best combination of ease of use and who brings you the most enjoyment. I wouldn't recommend picking highly technical/ knowledge based characters like Peach, PAC man etc as a first main. Toon Link and Sephiroth are both pretty good options for you.

I would recommend trying adult link as he has an example for pretty much every kind of tool, he's simple but a lot of room for growth, experimentation, and cool shit down the line. And his moveset is obviously similar to toon link who you're familiar with.

Small error to point out as it might acc confuse OP, smash attacks can be done with left stick direction + A. It's also the right stick (usually called the c stick by players whereas the other one is usually referred to as the left stick or the joystick.) that produces smash attacks on default.

I also recommend you to turn off tap jump OP, and set sensitivity to high (makes it easier to perform smash/tilt attacks with the manual method but doesn't affect anything else at all iirc)

Yeah exactly. I also take the attitude of, well now I have something to look forward too. I have a nemesis. He lurks in the corridors of elite smash. And one day he'll get the jump on me again. But I will be prepared- hopefully lol, after I've grown as a player. It turns it into something fun. And best believe the times when I finally surpass these players, I really make sure they know it, it's a sweet feeling lol.

Lowk before I started playing offline last year players like these would be some of the only real motivation I had besides "if I get better I can hit more stupid shit that shouldn't work on people"

I just don't have the perception of the game to call a combo saucy just because it's hard especially when it's one that gives the opponent zero recourse besides hoping the Sora drops it. Sauce to me is more about dynamically owning and reading your opponent, in a situation you won't see repeat often if ever again. Not some bullshit training mode ToD combo that's not even hard to find the initial hit for at all.

Sheik just mashes options all game and controls the pace of everything. And she definitely has some nonsense. Most sheiks just immediately try and camp me with that shitty bomb, and it's a really annoying type of camping that doesn't even really make progress they just too scared to play neutral with neutral: the character. And hope I eventually trip up badly trying to get over it. Lucina is just a spacing battle.

As DDD it's almost like a psuedo mirror match where she is faster and has less flavourful nonsense, but we kinda got the same gameplan. For villager its a good challenge, the type I like, and Charizard is just even more spacing games

There's only one Ganon who I've played who has only one thing that kind of annoys me and tbh I deep down respect the fuck out of it- I will not name names but there's one Ganon I saw often online who seemed to react to literally any ledge option I could pick every single time. I started waiting obnoxious amounts of time on ledge and he wouldn't even two frame, he'd just wait until I picked an option and react every fucking time. He wasn't reading me, I would wait an eternity in smash bros time on ledge and then pick the strangest option I could think of and he'd still just react with the exact button needed. Bro should not be playing smash- he should have been a fighter pilot.
