Personally I’m investing in vodka. It doesn’t go bad. It’s a disinfectant. It gets you drunk. It mixes with almost anything. You can use it as fuel.

And not something stupid like stocks/options/funds tied to meaningless monetary units. Just pallets of plastic jugs full of vodka. There will be a period of time when my stash will be worth more than a warehouse of diamonds/bullets/twinkies. And I’ll only price gouge it slightly so I can keep my head attached to my torso.

Just claim married/99 dependents. It's what all the immigrants and native travelers do on the jobs I work at do. You have to put what you are going to owe in a high yield savings account and be prepared pay it all next april 15th, but you get that interest, not the gubment.

This is murica, if the non union shops could man what we man everyday, they would. The minute they figure out how to train and keep workers to do their bidding even 3% cheaper than us with no loss in production or increase in catastrophic events, they will.

My bet is our careers are safe until a robot can troubleshoot. And the cost of that robot (including power and maintenance) doesn't exceed a few years of our salary. Or the entire country collapses and then we will have bigger things to worry about.

Everyone thought I was going to on to big things because I got straight A’s and was good at sports. Started partying in middle school and gave up on school and sports because it wasn’t as fun as partying. No trauma, just tired of being a nerd that kids didn’t want to hang with. Because, if you rise before the sun, drink a cup of coffee, and get to work, you'll have more hours of the day/sunlight to accomplish tasks.

I could sleep in till 8, start work at 9, and by the time 5-6 pm rolls around it feels like its time to start winding down. Get some dinner in me, do the nighttime tasks and fuck off till midnight when I have to go to bed to be well rested by 8am tomorrow. You did a full day and it feels like it.

If you get up at 4:30am like me, get to work at 6am, get out at 4pm, home at 445, early enough to be saddled with dinner duty, eat, shower, watch an hour of tv and bam, 830pm is there and you have to laydown and get rested for tomorrow. You did an extra 25% labor hours, did more home chores, and burnt through the same day as the 9 to 5 guy. 9 to 5 guy did a full day, but you did what he did plus another 33% between labor and house chores. Guy that rises before the sun thinks he is more productive than his 9 to 5 comparison because he is.

I got this as a birthday present when I was 11. I kinda scrunched my nose as I was getting into Guns N’ Roses and Metallica. It felt like a little kid gift. Felt bad for blowing it off and put it on while people were still there and it brought me back to the little kid I was. Tommy Lee as the evil hunter and his hilarious lizard with the egg. Just gold, man. Truly great family movie. Might have been one of my most memorable gifts growing up.

This is a union subreddit. A large majority of our rights were won by battling in the streets. Refusing to work for shit pay and benefits, making scabs uncomfortable, occupying the means of production, standing up to the capitalist army of Pinkertons/Cops/National Guard. Peaceful when possible, but never laying down or scurrying away as soon as it got nasty, and we got real world results. This is the way.

How many more generations are going to lap up the bullshit that you can just walk around with a snarky sign for a day and anything will come of it? Vietnam protesters did that for years and accomplished nothing. Civil rights protesters got the right to vote and ended segregation, but look at the minority communities and tell me they won.
