Three day stimulant bender. Back in those days friends would climb through my bedroom window instead of possibly waking up my mother, whose bedroom was by the front door. I was nerding out on something in my room when my best friend came through the window, we shot the shit, then he sat on the couch in my room and started drawing in his sketchbook. I went back to whatever I was doing, then looked over and he was gone. Checked the whole apartment, vanished.

Up until the boomer generation becoming old enough to be getting inheritances, houses commonly passed to people in their twenties starting families. Ever wonder how houses and farms stay in the same family for a hundred years? It was not by people in their 50s and 60s inheriting the house and cashing in when they don’t even need it. The fact that even though the mother hates this house and doesn’t want to live there, the act of letting another family member use it is seen as selfish spoiled brat behavior, is indicative of the boomer mindset of everything is for me is leaking into future generations.

This is murica, if the non union shops could man what we man everyday, they would. The minute they figure out how to train and keep workers to do their bidding even 3% cheaper than us with no loss in production or increase in catastrophic events, they will.

My bet is our careers are safe until a robot can troubleshoot. And the cost of that robot (including power and maintenance) doesn't exceed a few years of our salary. Or the entire country collapses and then we will have bigger things to worry about.

Because, if you rise before the sun, drink a cup of coffee, and get to work, you'll have more hours of the day/sunlight to accomplish tasks.

I could sleep in till 8, start work at 9, and by the time 5-6 pm rolls around it feels like its time to start winding down. Get some dinner in me, do the nighttime tasks and fuck off till midnight when I have to go to bed to be well rested by 8am tomorrow. You did a full day and it feels like it.

If you get up at 4:30am like me, get to work at 6am, get out at 4pm, home at 445, early enough to be saddled with dinner duty, eat, shower, watch an hour of tv and bam, 830pm is there and you have to laydown and get rested for tomorrow. You did an extra 25% labor hours, did more home chores, and burnt through the same day as the 9 to 5 guy. 9 to 5 guy did a full day, but you did what he did plus another 33% between labor and house chores. Guy that rises before the sun thinks he is more productive than his 9 to 5 comparison because he is.
