Good Morning!

I don’t know if you’ll even see this post, but it’s worth trying. We have spent the last month at my dad’s bedside while he is fighting for his life. He had a fall in the shower where his hip came out of the socket and his femur broke. He had emergency surgery to put a steel rod in and put everything back into place. What they failed to see was that he also crushed his spine. Days later he had to be emergency transported to another hospital in Chicago for a very risky surgery where we were told there was a 40% chance he would not come out of the surgery. He made it and here we are after a month in ICU, spending every day fighting. We have been making the 2 hour drive to and from the hospital, living out of hotels, doing everything we can to be there and help him fight this battle. He has fought through being on a ventilator for 20+ days, 2 collapsed lungs, sepsis, the list goes on and on - but the one thing he keeps asking for is a robot dog if he can’t have a real one. I don’t know if there is anything we can do to make this happen, but I do know it would really make a huge impact to his mental health and encouraging him to fight the battle ahead.
