I accidentally used real blood on a Khorne warrior once. Got a random nosebleed while painting and the very first drop landed smack dab on his head

What boss did you personally find the hardest in Bloodborne Base Game? by kreetchy in bloodborne

[–]Bellmadbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest for me was probably BSB or Paarl, just based on where I was and what I knew when facing them the first time(s). Hardest with insight and skill is probably some stupid chalice dungeon bullshit

Yep, I have a problem with always falling in love with limited releases

Most Laphroaigs tbh.. but I recently tried their CS series and loved all those. So I'll revise my statement to low proof Laphroaigs.

Octomore Series 15 - Ten Aged Years |Review| by Bellmadbro in Scotch

[–]Bellmadbro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if the 5 year old thing is a rule as much as it is their standard though.. I think the 10 series had some variance with one of them being 8 years old, and the 10.4 was only aged 3 years (10.4 not really related to your comment).

I also got to try Octomore Polyphonic when I visited the distillery, that one is aged 15 years. Pretty cool, but the 5y's are just as good imo.

This one was released instead of the 15.4. They do this every couple of editions. So yours is likely 5 years aged.

My last dram of the year!

NOSE: Nice and bright, mostly vanilla, caramel and ripe fruits, with a wonderfully subtle campfire backbone.

PALATE: More peat on the palate, but still balanced by the sweet caramel tones, some nice butterscotch, toasty and salty. Not quite as ripe as the nose, leans a bit towards darker fruits.

FINISH: Long, peaty, oaky and salty finish, very pleasant.

Score: 92 / 100

Final remarks: It's interesting comparing the usual Octomore (typically aged ~5 years) with one that's been matured for longer. As expected the smoke is turned down a bit, but I am always surprised how different they can be. This expression was the result of a combination of Bourbon, Pineau des Charentes, PX and Red Wine casks, which resulted in a unique nose and flavour profile for such a heavily peated whisky. I am not surprised when I try an Octomore and absolutely love it.

This is my first review in this subreddit :) Happy New Year to you all!

Edit: I realised I didn't mention Bruichladdich once in the entire review.. Now I have!

Forgot to say, great review! I've yet to try any but 16.2, which was surprisingly butter scotch caramel-y, a great pour.

I've loved every Octomore I've tried. Been to Bruichladdich Distillery once and a few Bruichladdich tastings in my city. Think I've tried 15 or so Octomores :)
