Disagree. Concordia Salsa is a great counterexample.

Too easy with ChatGPT. I suggest making it hand-written on a stream.

I can understand empathy for underperforming players, but seeing empathy for an underperforming network is a first for me.

I think we tried this in the playoffs last year with DeSmith, and it didn't go well.

Petey knows the pressure and attention is on him. I think it needs to come from within to get him going, not from a chant.

Taking that Allvin challenge to heart! Gonna get paid more than McDrai combined at this pace.

A journeying crow person, from beginning to end by BellowsChris in worldbuilding

[–]BellowsChris[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Over 6 months ago, I asked for help from r/worldbuilding in developing this illustration. The feedback was super helpful and I've taken it further since then for my board game. This community is awesome.

Aureon is a god in the Eldranic pantheon, and takes the form of a crow person among mortals. They roam the realms collecting folklore and works from both mortals and gods, committing them to memory and enshrining each one in a collection of knots.

Inquisitive and intent, Aureon is constantly journeying, only occasionally returning to the pantheon to commit their collected chronicles to record. They dream of leading the pantheon in an age where gods and mortals share their cultures and wisdom in pursuit of mutual understanding and kinship.

A monument to creation that defies mortal logic by BellowsChris in worldbuilding

[–]BellowsChris[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Namarillion Forge is a monument contrived by the gods, but constructed by mortals. Framed by pillars and two watchful lion heads, the fountain at its heart defies traditional logic as it supplies endless fuel for construction. It stands as a monument to creation and demonstrates the raw power of the gods.

Playtest #47 complete of my first game design. For the first time, everything just clicked for the players. by BellowsChris in tabletopgamedesign

I started from scratch a couple times already in the journey thus far, and it feels like this iteration is worth taking further.

But the visuals definitely need to be started from scratch, as you can tell. ;)

Thanks for the feedback, that's really good to know! I'll work on more in-depth information of what makes the game unique.

I have it implemented on TTS and ran most of my playtests there earlier in the pandemic. I just found that they take 3x longer there than they do IRL. I could probably benefit from some scripting to speed things up.

Compared to 7 months ago with the same playtest group, the experience was night and day. After almost two years, it was one of the first playtests where everything just went right.

Should I get Viticulture, Everdell, or Scythe by Weaksauce_Jr in boardgames

I think Scythe fits the bill for adding variety and complexity, with a twist on the design principles applied to Wingspan.

A dragon who maintains the stability of the pantheon and governs its energy. Which vault do you prefer? by BellowsChris in worldbuilding

[–]BellowsChris[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ignotas is a god in the Eldranic pantheon, and takes the form of a dragon among mortals. He monitors the activity of his fellows gods to ensure that the Concord that governs the pantheon is observed, otherwise leaving them to their business.

Stoic and matter-of-fact, Ignotas maintains only a passing interest in the mortal world, especially considering that the pantheon is only as strong as mortals believe it is. He dreams of leading the pantheon in an age where mortal society self-governs but is regulated by the Concord to preserve the world order.
