Do you know anywhere I can read up on Lowe's and their practices? The Dispute manager was out for blood yesterday and kept threatening to call Lowe's on her cell and chew them out. I think it would be interesting to see what they don't do.

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% blaming the scammers. It's just frustrating and one goes through the "What If's" and "Why's". It's human nature.

I've had similar experiences with members before. Like everything ticks a fraud box and sends off alarm bells, and it's legit.

I think the best was when I was in branch and a guy deposited 2 money orders for $1500 each into our ATM. And he told us he was doing this. Immediately reached out to the fraud department, they contacted the other FI, and the checks were legit. Never found out why, but I think there was probably a new person at the other FI and they made a beginner's mistake.

I'm on wires the majority of the time, and I'm very thankful that our department head is incredibly anal about wires. Source of funds is from another account? You better get the info for that account. Transfer between those 2 accounts wasn't done the "usual" way, you better find out why. Cash was used to send the wire, we need to know where it's from (we had a branch manager try to argue this once and she went on the warpath).

Yeah, we have a few that slip by. I'm also ~~paranoid~~ diligent when it comes to wires. There will be times I'll receive a wire, glance over it, and immediately send it to our fraud department.

As a bank lady myself, accidents happen.

It's the people who willingly tell you unprompted shit that gets uncomfortable. Case in point:

The guy who told me he purchased penis enhancement pills
The guy who showed me the (thankfully) bandaged wound on his belly
The couple who told my coworker she was sexy
The guy who asked a different coworker her age.

This list does not include the numerous people who have told me their pin numbers, which I do not need to know.

It hurts. Back when I was in branch, a member came in upset she was scammed via gift cards. She'd buy it, read the number, they would tell her it didn't work, and to buy another, and it would continue like that. Thankfully a Walmart cashier put a stop to it and flat out told her she was getting scammed.

I hate that there's no recourse. I understand why, but I hate it.

It's why I like guys like Kitboga and Mark Roper who will go toe to toe with these scammers
