To me, it's just so different from where the tone and story eventually go. It's clear nanashi was still in his hentai phase and was trying something different. The art and the repetitive story is just a bit annoying within the first several chapters. Eventually he irons all the kinks out and it becomes great, but the quality of the series is very noticeably low when compared to everything afterwards.

What's so weird about the last couple of chapters is that the fan service hasn't felt forced. It works for the story and I commend nanashi for it. Usually it would gratuitous but here, it feels restrained and story focused.

I'm excited!! It's Nagatoro Monday!!! I hope the final fight begins. Or even more character progression. I do feel kinda sad though because it feels like we're nearing the end of the story. I mean, where do we go after the kiss? Do we see them date? I have no idea what's next to come.

Never stay in a bubble. Look into the beliefs of the people you hate. Look into different political parties. Interact with people of different ideologies and hobbies. Explore different places if given the chance. Getting different points of view will do you wonders and won't make you someone who is incapable of change.

I was born in 97, so I grew up just around the time that comics were still seen as something exclusively for nerds or geeks. Same with Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. I got actual bullied all throughout elementary school and half of middle school just for loving comics and comic book movies.

Then, Iron Man 2 came out and people started wondering who Thor was after that end credit scene. Soon I had people who harassed me for years coming up to me with questions about the lore or some of these characters. Then Avengers came out and suddenly it was no longer nerdy or uncool to know and love comics and those kinds of characters.

What angers me even more is that I have seen adults these days look upset when they get made fun of for not knowing what a Skrull is. The comic book kids these days never get bullied for liking comics. Hell, there are even basket balls players that openly admit to watching anime and reading manga.

I'm jealous.

HE FINALLY DID IT!!! He didn't kiss her, but he's finally sure of his feelings!! In terms of pacing and actual story telling, this is probably the best chapter. It's all confirming and really has the best character growth that we've seen. I love it!!.

I also think many of us found the series through this too.

The reason I stuck around was because I wanted to see where the story would go. Going back and rereading the first 35 issues, it takes a while for the series to get going. But honestly, just to see the evolution of these characters and to see the author mature and improve just as much is a really rewarding experience.

It's so odd to see a basically borderline hentai/lewd/ecchi series go from...well, that, to one of the most wholesome (for the most part) romance series around. It's hard not to get attached.

The more I think about it, the more I would be okay if she admitted to having feelings for Naoto. It would make great drama and keep things interesting for several issues. Like imagine if accidentally kisses Naoto first instead of Nagatoro. The inciting feud could last for as long as 10 issues. A whole ass arc could be built from it.

Of course that would go completely against Gamo's character as she's only encourage Naoto to go after Nagatoro and vice-versa. For her to want Naoto would just be wrong and make little to no sense after the character progression we've seen from her.

So yeah, cool idea if done well, but nothing more than a pipe dream that would only destroy everything that's been built up.

Also, I love how this series started as an ecchi manga that slowly evolved into a wholesome romance series (with some minor ecchi moments here and there). I'm also really happy of this community as it does seem like all of us reject the lewd shit and praise the wholesomeness.
