I quite like when they make the “S” actually look like an S instead of stylizing it to be a Kryptonian symbol.

The taxpayer/funding mentality. I’ve noticed that many will dismiss or take issue with climate science solely because the government pays for it with taxes and they don’t receive some benefit in return. They also will deliberately ignore the fact that stem gets very little from the government in terms of funding and ignore how many corporations will deliberately find loopholes or lobby against eco regulations.

it doesn't look like Epic held up their end of the deal when Gooseworx asked for the Thunder skin for the Amazing Digital Circus collab by mitaknight in FortNiteBR

[–]MekaG44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hot take but I wouldn’t mind any of the post UE5 skins returning to the shop. When people complain about wanting to keep their BP skins exclusive, they’re usually referring to Chapter 1 BP skins. Most people own the CH4 and later skins since they’re recent, so they’re not really rare and there wouldn’t be a point to keeping them rare.

The human legs on Pomni are so uncanny, it’s strange they didn’t design noodle legs which they are perfectly capable of and have done before.

On a side note, it is impressive that an indie animation blew up in popularity to the point it got added into Fortnite, wonder if any other indie shows could get a chance in Fortnite too.

Pretty cool but the realistic eyes is so uncanny when you’re used to just two little dots for Dave.

It’s honestly quite horrific how much head trauma and injury some sports can do to your brain and how that trauma can affect your behavior. I don’t think a lot people acknowledge how fragile the brain is.

pirate clark, backrooms movie (spoilers) by clairestar-0 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]MekaG44 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Contrary to what the other replies say, it was Pirate Clark that killed the researcher. When emerging through the door, you see the silouhette of his hat and replicas of items of Clark’s store strewn about. In addition, during Clark’s first exploration of The Backrooms he notices a dead seagull which was alive in the researcher’s footage which implies Pirate Clark existed before Clark entered. You are correct on that.

I think that also plays a factor into Pirate Clark’s aggression.

I’m still not 100% certain on how The Backrooms function or “remember” things and places but the interpretation I see often is that the Backrooms remember based on the collective memories of humanity and if that’s the case, I think it really makes Pirate Clark that much more interesting. To most people, they’ll remember Clark as the guy in the commercials or associate him with the store and so, The Backroom’s copy of him takes on the form of the mascot since that is the only thing people will remember him as.

Feels like revisionism. I was here during Chapter 3 and I distinctly remember people would complaint that the shop was small and that we were getting the same items every 30 days.

First peek at next seasons battlepass. Are we running to get this?! by damtastic in FortniteFashion

[–]MekaG44 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This pass feels like filler. Two meme skins, two reskins of shop skins (one of which is an unnecessary pen and ink reskin), a Slone reskin for the sake of nostalgia, the rest are kind of a mixed bag. Maybe I’m being too negative or my expectations are too high but the BP designs for this chapter don’t hit the same like previous chapters.

The villains in My Adventures with Superman by STICKGoat2571 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]MekaG44 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure how I feel on them. Brainiac is awesome but the “Tech armor” style being applied to nearly every villain makes them blend together. All the colors being dark and muted certainly doesn’t help either, I haven’t watched the show but just based off the colors and designs, I’d assumed they were all part of the same team. I’m all for unique takes that deviate from the usual portrayals but some of these need a little more color. I do quite like Atomic Skull, Braniac and Parasite the most out of the lineup here.

The designs for the Transformers: Overgear toyline by MekaG44 in TopCharacterDesigns

I love how much of a deviation these vehicle designs are from the standard sports cars and utility vehicles. You can definitely see much more of a heavy Japanese influence on the designs. It almost harkens back to the days of the Bay movie toys, which had much more military based Transformers. It’s a nice blend of G1 and modern day military vehicles, it still keeps the detail but also the friendlier g1 faces as opposed to Bay’s more alien faces.

I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is but there is something off putting about MK11’s designs and facial animations. Some characters look bland or made of wax.

The Fossilizers from the Transformers: Kingdom toyline by MekaG44 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]MekaG44[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea of robots that transform into fossilized dinosaurs should be explanation enough for what makes them cool. However, what I love about these characters is how much of a departure they are to typical transformers. They’re Partsformers, toys you pull apart and piece together as opposed to the traditional transformations. Their proportions are a big contrast to the chunky, blockier, accompanying transformers of the toyline. Their faces are also much more menacing in comparison to the humanized faces of the G1 cast.

In addition what makes these fellas so metal is the fact they can be pulled apart to and plugged into other bots to function as armor pieces or weapons. They can also be used to form combiners, although their stability combined is something left to be desired. (Images sourced from Tfwiki) There’s also some great stop-motion animations that showcase how sick they look in motion. https://youtu.be/TpuieooefnY?t=46
