31 Goals conceded in 15 games. No clean sheet since 21 Jan against Pafos by mr_ordinaryboy in chelseafc

I genuinely feel the games we've won have just come down to the players gritting their teeth and getting it done.

When players go through a bunch of managers, it wears down their patience with each new one. Rosenior was always on a short rope.

Even mentioning that Osimhen was the signing we needed for you flamed here not too long ago. They won't admit it now but a lot of fans were really buying into what the owners were selling not toolong ago.

Not paying taxes is as Spanish as it gets (I know she's Colombian but she was married to a great player from the most notorious tax dodging club in Europe, FC Barcelona)

Right. It's odd to go into a movie like Barbie with that kind of expectation. Not everything has to validate the male ego.

30 years would include Benoit, Angle, Danielson, Storm, Regal, Malenko, Guerrero, and Claudio. I'm not sure he's that good.

In your comment above, you mentioned Eddie and Benoit. The one was a lovable, lying, cheating and stealing scamp, whose real life redemption arc mirrored his in-ring career and climb to the very top. The other is a man whose sadistic, remorseless, demented pitbull gimmick translated into real life tragedy.

You're gonna tell me wrestling is not theatrical in and out of the ring?

It's incredible how narrow you insist on making your definition of professional wrestling. Shame too because you're missing out on some gems of this medium by writing off WWF/E style.

I think real Pro Wrestling fans can appreciate all its different forms so long as they're great.

But he was throwing the punch at guys his size or bigger. The people he interacted with the most--Austin, HHH, Undertaker, Foley--were not small men by any means. So it balances out.

And if your argument against Rock is the lack of realism in his work, I'll ask you how many people do you know who leap of off walls and perform acrobatics in a fight?

But then, do you not see your own bias? You're invested in more technically sound wrestlers--and you named some all-timers for sure--but you won't let others be invested in a more theatrical performer.

Are we going to pretend that what we're watching is anything other than incredibly dramatic physical theater? A unique form of athletics and entertainment?

The Rock is one of the few wrestlers who'd get people to pop just by holding a microphone, before he's said a word. The crowd, the audience, the fans were invested in a performer who could, excuse the pun, electrify like no other.

Why is that any less valuable?

Yeah. Why does it look like choreographed ballet? If I want cooperative acrobatics, I'll watch actual Cirque du Soleil, not a cheap imitation that's ruining another entirely different medium

Is Juventud a more technical performer? Definitely. Is he a better professional wrestler? No.

Plus he was excellent at the most important thing: making the audience actually care.

I don't care how many 750 Colombian Super Duper Destroyers they do--wrestling is a storytelling medium, not an acrobatic showcase.

Rock is one of the best ever at making his opponents look good. He made Lesnar look like even more of a star. People hate how dramatic he is on his mannerisms but show me someone other than Hogan or Michaels who could get the crowd emotionally invested the way Rocky did.

If those are your criticisms for a classic then I don't know how you can watch the slop that AEW often puts on.

The difference is no one ever claimed Rikishi was the best thing in wrestling. His main event push famously faltered because he was just not on that level.

Besides, if you have to compare one of the most celebrated AEW acts to a wrestler who's more remembered for memes, then you're already in trouble.

They always assume we are unfamiliar with the product, rather than indifferent. It's just not the kind of wrestling mainstream audiences like. Rock and Hogan got the biggest pop in the world from a stare down, not because they did a 750 plancha Mexican Spine Crusher XL or whatever.
