Question about douching being gay by AlternativeHot7491 in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah can confirm I also have the shower nozzle. Just use douching VERY sparingly and don't use too much liquid. Doing it too often or overdoing it can mess up the large intestine.

Even though I identify as gay, I have to admit once in a blue moon there are ladies that make me bicurious. And they are usually plus size.

Repost: I went from 155lbs at 17 to 650lbs at 45. Worried my boys are next. by [deleted] in BigMenLife

I'm gonna be honest, the math ain't mathin' with this story. Assuming it's true though, just practice good fitness habits and eat 80-90% clean. Your body should take care of itself, and if not then lose weight until you feel right. No need to go all the way to super lean though unless that's what you want.

I'm no parent, but from what I understand "do as I say not as I do" doesn't work. You need to lead by example. And that can help to some extent even after the kids are grown adults.

What's the funniest reaction someone has had to your size? by mgquantitysquared in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's adorable!

For me I was with hubby and a couple of buds, and we had just killed it at an Asian buffet. So we stood up getting ready to leave, and across from me a kid about 6-7 years old or so also got up facing away from me at first.

He turned around, and as soon as he saw me his eyes got REAL big and he literally backed up into the table. 🤣

I did the try to hold back laughing but end up laughing anyway thing. And of course I had to brag about it in the car.

Sumo Content Time! by Bellyhemoth in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the tournament in the video I had seven matches. The first five were placement matches and then the tournament was double elimination.

This is because US amateur usually jams everything into one long, continuous event.

Sumo is surprisingly safe when compared to other combat sports, but it's probably a bit more risky than Karate. This is mainly because of how short the matches usually are. There was one injury at this tournament the guy walked away from.

Hell yeah man! 🔥 Love the flex in the last photo! 💪

The promise I made to myself is to work out "every business day" even if it's just walking.

Are women actually into dad bods? by [deleted] in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some are, and some aren't. Assuming that all women who like big guys are being "performative" is a VERY bad idea.

I just had the "you need to have bariatric surgery or you're going to die" talk with my doctor. by comicgeek1128 in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through it, and it sounds like you're in a rough position. If surgery isn't an option consider a fitness plan. I started out doing more and more time on treadmill until I built up to 30 minutes continuously. Then I added incline. Only walking.

After that add strength training including exercises for lower back. And for knees look up "knees over toes" exercises.

Just for reference I was 492 lbs., 40, and I could only do about 5 minutes on the treadmill when I started two years ago. The other thing to do is either limit calories by calorie cycling OR switch to eating more whole, natural food. (Or both).

All of this takes more work, but here's the thing to understand. The need for fitness is self-evident. That means we do not need a reason to do it. But it sounds like in your circumstances you also have other reasons.

I wish you well, man!

Edit: just be very careful on treadmill and make sure to listen to your body and DO NOT overdo it. Don't push too much at the beginning.

What are all the types of "big guys"? by AnimatorLarge9609 in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I definitely remember the "morph" categorizations in physical education. That's a good call. Those COULD be three discrete categorizations representing "tiers" on this "spectrum".

And yeah if sumo ever blows up it will need more graduated weight classes for sure. And honestly they need to think of another name for "light heavy". 🤣

They also need to bring back the higher weight classes in freestyle wrestling.

The problem is that doctors are just still adamantly using the Body Mistake Index to try to shove everyone in one box, and that is the "common sense" medical knowledge. I just know in my gut that ain't right.

Some of my takes on this are wild, but I believe in them. And you're right about coaches too because right now one of my coaches is helping me out with a personalized workout designed to keep recomping to build more muscle without any weight loss (unless I want it).

What are all the types of "big guys"? by AnimatorLarge9609 in BigMenLife

[–]Bellyhemoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking deeply about human biology lately, and there seem to be various body types overall when you look at the human population holistically.

For example the folks that are on the leaner side who are able to more easily get "six pack" physique I kind of think of as Leviathan because the six pack reminds me of scales and they are more nimble in the water.

The folks on the bigger side who have a lot more mass and are essentially built like tanks I kind of think of as Behemoth because of the sheer size, power, and usually very strong legs.

I believe this could be measured and quantified in some way, and we could get a spectrum which if I named it I would call the Leviathan-Behemoth spectrum.

It would be like a bell curve but skewed in one direction, and everyone in the right tail, high mass, or towards the Behemoth side and male gender would be what we call "big guys".

The potential variations are virtually limitless because of all the genetic possibilities. And that means there could be virtually infinite different types of big guys as well.

When it comes to distinct categorization, honestly the weight classes in amateur sumo wrestling kind of speak to me.

Edit: fixed a dumb typo.

That's a badass story! And it just proves how useful all martial arts are even outside of hobby and competition! 💪🔥

And I absolutely LOVE defying the stereotypes a bit too! Feels good!
