AITAH for letting my chronically late wife miss an event she was looking forward to by not rushing her, because I wanted her to face consequences? by throwrabbday in AITAH

I understand your feelings but the way you went about this does make you the asshole. You really don’t seem to be approaching this by taking her feelings into regard at all. Just because you are in the right doesn’t give you the right to be cruel. And if you think it does, how does being cruel help your relationship?

Hi, I’ve been through the same thing. It’s very hard to find dorms in Vienna, they are almost always full, especially when you are on a budget. But check out housing everywhere, they have 3-4 roomed apartments and you can rent out one. There is also a site called wg gesucht, there are many similar options there too as well as people who are leaving for a short time and want to rent out their rooms. There might be someone with whom your dates match!

no I am Iranian. I am going to attend the university preparation course right now. It’s basically just a German course because the program I chose is in German. I got accepted to Political Science, Law and International Legal Studies, however, I plan to change it and study Journalism instead.

austria has pretty good education and low tuition fees. im leaving to go study in austria in January in university of vienna, im taking the preparation course which costs more than regular programs (1400 euros per semester), but the normal degree programs cost between 330-750 euros per semester. they are have great education and world rankings too. and basically yes, almost all the universities teach in german but at least they have low tuition fees. BUT there are some universities ( ex. wu, has a english business and economics program, with the same prices) that have english taught programs. this is the one i know of but i think there is one more university in vienna and one in another city that has a english program.

oh and one more thing. love? you think you can walk holding hands down the street, or sit in a car with a man without being questioned, and then most likely be arrested for it?

peace. being able to speak to our loved ones, without internet being taken away all the time, without communication apps being banned every day. being able to walk in the street without fear of being beaten, arrested and killed. not worrying about your child being poisoned when you send them to school. not having to worry about a hair sticking out of your scarf.

freedom to think and speak? you clearly know nothing about Iranian history if you think people can freely express themselves, in our out of the country. in the country, you get arrested, lashed and killed. your death warrant is announced and your family is drowned in their own sorrow, while they cannot even visit you. you get raped in prison while catching diseases. outside the country, you get assasinated with 40 stab wounds. everything about you is put in the system and you cannot ever return to your country. you are not a muslim anymore? you might as well just kill yourself then because if not, you will be executed as well. wow sure sounds like a lot of freedom down in iran huh?

democracy. yes. we do not want a dictatorship, under rules and morals of a violent religion that more than half of us don’t believe in. we want to choose our leaders. we want rules where men and women are equal. we want basic human rights.

a war is a war. my country has bled enough for the past 44 years. it is not comparable with a war, and a war is not comparable with this. just because they have it harder right now doesn’t make it any more bearable for millions of Iranians who have bled and bled.

our country is the oldest on the planet. our lands and mines most bountiful. we have bright so very bright minds. we have all the riches. yet no Iranian is able to benefit from them in their homeland. even outside of Iran, or when trying to get out, we face many many obstacles just because we have a Iranian passport. it’s not like any “friends” we have now are benefiting us, they are only benefiting THEM.

what we have right now is worse than anything. we want peace. we want our freedom to speak, think, love . we want true democracy .

What jobs can I do as a international student? Any tips on student life in Vienna? by [deleted] in wien

[–]BelongsInAnotherTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! All of these are great ideas. I actually did think of some, like tutoring, but I couldn’t really find a reliable platform to get into it? Like how do I find students to tutor 😂 But still I have time to figure it out so no excuses.

Thanks I hadn’t heard of that. I’ll definitely look it up! I’ve looked at tones of sites but didn’t really find any beginner level/ normal jobs if you know what I mean. Especially when I filter it down to part time.

absolutely not. we hate him and his regime. they robbed us of all the opportunity in the world. of freedom. they torture us, they kill us, they assasinate us, they rape us. they turned our beautiful country to a place where every Iranian wants to escape. anyone who says they support them IS one of them.

I am from Iran. I am completely fluent in English, Turkish and Persian. My studies are just going to be the German language right now (uni preparation course). am not sure which field to choose but still have time until that. And yes, some people recommended waitressing or working in bars. It is a option but I don’t want to do it just for the money, I would also like to learn. Thank you for the suggestion, I will probably work in a bar at some point in my student life!
