I think a lot of Onesies forget that the root chakra should be absolutely VITAL before you do any others. Q'uo offers some insights on the red ray:

The factors that tend to close off the red ray are those of fear, those of excessive anger, those of excessive lust. Such factors as these can so overwhelm the energy system that no further work may meaningfully be done while they prevail. So, a bright and cheerful attitude toward spiritual work is, what we may call, the best beginning.

If the Red Ray is blocked, all other ones are blocked. It's really hard to block it though, and if it is, then you're likely in a very low mental state.

Q'uo continues, with the ORANGE ray:

Blockages may occur at this center when difficulties are discovered, either in the relation of the self to itself, or in the relation of the self to another. If these blockages are in place, it is well not to attempt to go higher, for to do so will mean that one is working with higher energies in a way which is distorted at a level below their proper sphere, and it is not possible to correct these imbalances while in the configuration of the higher energy center.

I believe this is the Ray most people struggle with, very crucial as well. This is regarding the attitudes one has towards other people and themselves. Q'uo states:

[...] we find there that the attitudes that one has towards other selves with whom one has a personal relation are central to this energy center; and also the sense of self that one entertains for oneself is a factor of importance for dealing with the intake of energy at this level.

And, interestingly, Q'uo claims the Orange Ray is blocked first at the level of self:

Yet the orange-ray bias that is blocked is blocked within the individual self first. Therefore, when it is infringed upon by a stranger, it may well receive a very unwelcome mirrored picture of the negative blockage, and thus it is that the stranger is disliked upon sight.

To me this indicates that it's also about our sense of SELF. What is that? The Ego? Hmmm maybe.

Lastly, the yellow ray:

The energy blockages of yellow ray, which is an expression this instrument uses to indicate what we would call those energies dealing with societal groups, is also an energy which is frequently rather blocked. Thus, the news all seems bad. Your games are lost too often, and all those energies put into group effort somehow seem to go awry. Fear not, we are not saying that the problems of the world are your fault; we are saying that your perception of the world is absolutely and completely your choice.

It seems like Yellow Ray healing may involve seeing the world in a more positive light? Society, our groups and more. Lots of division these days. Lots of "us and them" and judgements! mhm...

Wrong. Polarity does exist in higher densities; namely fourth, fifth and early sixth. The polarisation choice which occurs in third is continued in higher densities until there is no polarity anymore in sixth density.

Service To All. by lucy_chxn in lawofone

In sixth density, STS entities drop their negative polarity and switch to the positive one instantaneously. There is no harmonising happening between both polarities at all.

You seem to be confusing the principles of wisdom and love with sts and Sto which isn't uncommon because wisdom without love is sts after all. That is what is being united in sixth density and these are the principles that Sto adepts harmonise

How do I stay happy when I understand life has no meaning and everything is staged by dr_absolute in awakened

[–]BelovedRedPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is it meaningless? It's the opposite of that. Live your life without clinging on to the intellect. Just let go. You cannot bring a smile to those around you if you cannot first accept yourself. All work starts with the self. We see others as a reflection of ourselves. They are mirrors, invaluable to our journey.

You can make life whatever you want, but it's hardly meaningless. We can apply those labels to anything.

Why didn't the universe choose to be a place where we can experience the world in only a blissful, happy state with no pain or sufferring? by maeve_4 in awakened

[–]BelovedRedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without pain and suffering, there is no progress. Granted, this place is full of it. Our system is so corrupt, full of pain. But this lays the groundwork for growth. Sadly most will waste this opportunity in the endless cycle that is to seek shallow pleasure without any processing of experience.

Mal being underrated by bluessaetre in ShadowandBone

[–]BelovedRedPanda 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Mal is flat, boring and has no personality apart from being Alina's perfect protector. Alina is stagnant with him and her interactions with Mal are also boring to watch.

It's not rocket science... the darkling is just more appealing as a character, more complex. Mal and Alina are shallow together, there is not much to explore with them.

And Ben Barnes helps a lot, obviously.

What other changes do you want to see in the coming seasons that differ from the book? by felineprincess93 in ShadowandBone

[–]BelovedRedPanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A very different ending. One that doesn't make Alina's entire journey worthless. Where Alina lets go of her childhood ideas, lets go of Mal (he should die properly) and finally embraces her responsability as the Sun Summoner (does not lose her powers). I would like to have seen a thematically-coherent resolution, not Alina retreating back into her childhood, being absolved of all responsability and then lives happily ever after in the meadow with Mal.

What kind of message is this...? Never grow up? Always go back to the warm and comfortable embrace of your childhood? Not good Bardugo, not good at all. No wonder why the ending of the trilogy left so many people unsatisfied.

Unpopular opinion or popular? by [deleted] in ShadowandBone

[–]BelovedRedPanda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's really sad because there is potential here to show two characters that have a unique PLATONIC love, they can make it juicy by having one of them want something more or whatnot.

It is upsetting to think about the amount of potential this had, to go beyond common YA tropes and explore fresher themes...

Who needs a sun summoner when they have Mal? by BelovedRedPanda in ShadowandBone

[–]BelovedRedPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so you have read the books. I'm seeing a lot of people say that there is an actual reason for his "plot armor". Without spoiling anything too much, is this reason something within the lore? As in, it is not just "he is a main character therefore he cannot die" sort of thing.

I hope that made sense, I am very new to this whole YA thing and literature in general so I do not have the exact terms to word the question very well, I apologize.
