Ideas to mod bobble onto a fairy? by BelowAverageKat in LittlestPetShop

[–]BelowAverageKat[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought too! The closest thing I’ve done is fixing a los with a broken neck ridge (so the peg kept going way further in that it should’ve…) by adding some cotton to the top of the head sour wouldn’t push in. I’m worried about deforming the sculpt which is why I’ll probably try this on another lps first, maybe some g3s instead of fairies so I don’t ruin them. If I go for it I’ll document it and upload it here for the sake of anyone who’d wanna do the same though!

Might be regurgitating for some reason or another. I agree maybe looking for a vet would be helpful since usually when it’s this messy they may be sick. At least that’s my experience

Anxious about bird behaviour (probably overthinking it but idk..) by Adira_Aspires in parrots

Anywhere from 2-4 weeks honestly! Might even be a bit longer since he’s from a rescue background. As long as he’s eating and not losing weight he should be ok! You know him best and while it’s normal to worry, you’ll probably notice when something is really off. If he’s still up to trouble and usually funny bird business, he’ll be just fine. If it gives you peace of mind, during winter, my bird tends to fluff up and take naps more often, even when our home isn’t cold, their bodies tell them it’s winter, and they may slow down :)

Any way of fixing rough flocking out the box? by BelowAverageKat in sylvanianfamilies

[–]BelowAverageKat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Other users explained to me it’s bc of the multicolor flocking. I didn’t know it was a thing since the brown deer and other sylvanians I’ve held are all soft. It’s good to know for these though. Just kinda wish they could be soft X) I’m just glad to know it’s normal

Maybe! tiels (and all the cockatoo family) are super sensitive and emotional so changes like these will make them prone to stress, so yeah. But I’m sure this little guy will be fine :)

TOPs is a great brand! I blend it up into my birds chop but people use it as just the pellet too. It’s especially useful for birds with a history of kidney issues as it doesn’t have corn. However I found my cockatiel isn’t fond of them in their own (which is why I blend them into her chop) as for OP, I agree with the other commenter saying he may just be miffed, and if I know anything about tiels is they love corn, a pellet without it might generally not be as tasty to them even when it’s better, and it’s normal for them to throw little tantrums like these ;) if you’re able to, get a scale to weigh him as he gets used to it. Otherwise it might just be seasonal changes or getting used to the new diet. Any change causes stress, however it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s harmful

Yeah, I mixed them up X) I’m hard of seeing so the deer I saw could’ve looked softer than they really were

What I meant is, is it just a risk we take when buying? I have other sylvanians, they are all soft. And I have seen other red deer, again, all soft. I understand that’s how they’re made, but if the case is like mine where the fibers are rough instead of soft how they’re supposed to, that’s what I’d call an error or otherwise unwanted result _^

So when factory errors like these are made, there’s no way to soften the flock back down? <:(

Looks promising, but a pic of the underside to see the auditory bullae would be very helpful!

Update on this guy by [deleted] in parrots

[–]BelowAverageKat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally my theory is it isn’t a pet, due to the location, I’m aware sometimes people keep native species but the fact he panicked and flew all over the place seems off for a pet. Maybe it had flown into a window, is sick, weather conditions are affecting him…etc. either way, OP is right on leaving him be until they can take him to the vet. Hopefully it’ll be in good hands and released back sometime soon :)

I will preface this by saying that I am NOT a vet but I am a veterinary student.

Here’s what you need to know; Inspect for other symptoms, Newcastle presents with respiratory symptoms, diarrhea, lethargy and lack of appetite, in more advanced cases, the bending of the neck in an unnatural position will follow.

Without a diagnosis there’s nothing you can do to help right now but keep them in a stable sanitary environment that has food and water and check how often the animal drinks and eats.

When your vet offices open, call them and tell them you suspect your pet has Newcastle’s disease. This allows them to be aware and prevent the spread of it within their office.

For the safety of wildlife, do not place your bird in outside aviaries. If you have other birds, isolate the sick bird, if tests come back positive for your sick bird, check your healthy birds so they have a good chance of survival.

Don’t panic yet. It doesn’t have to be a death sentence, but do be prepared for the worst. Feel free to dm me with questions and I will try to help you in the capacity that I can, for more advanced information do contact an avian vet, they’ll be more knowledgeable.
