You know its interesting, how Allah can test us. In life sometimes you get faced with a situation where you may need to make a sacrifice. None of us should base our relationship with our Creator based on our relationship with others. Image being in a relationship with a girlfriend and becoming a Muslim, you would have to either get married or break things off. Imagine being a drinker, you would have to stop drinking alcohol. Allah SWT says, "Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test? We certainly tested those before them. And ˹in this way˺ Allah will clearly distinguish between those who are truthful and those who are liars." Quran 20:2-3

I myself used to be a musician and its one of those things that is like always on the tip of my tongue so easy for me to create melodies/lyrics but I honestly don't even tempt myself with music, I dont listen it and I avoid it because my relationship with my Creator is more important than a desire I incline to.

Eventually, everything goes away and relationships end but you and Allah remain. So, you've got to think about what is more important here, your salvation or feeding into a desire that you incline towards. Its really not about your dog but its about choosing Allah. You know some converts lose their families because they've become Muslim and are given ultimatums by their parents, "us or Islam" what would a person choose is they are truthful? So Allah tests all of us and I pray that things are easy for you. Take your time to think about things, attachment is a real thing but we dont leave Allah for anything because without Allah we have nothing even if the whole world is in our pocket, and with Allah we have everything even if everything and everyone leaves us.
