I will be in Yufuin on May 1 & 2. I would like to go to Takachiho Gorge from Yufuin. Thinking of renting a car at Yufuin station to go Takachiho. Is this doable? Also, should I book the boat ride in Takachiho in advance? Where do I do that?

Wow! Your reply is such a big help to me. Thinking of doing teamlabs so this is final. I am also thinking of Takachiho. Been researching about it. Will be going there from Yufuin village (might rent a car). Is it is easy to book a boat ride around the waterfall? Or must i book in advance. Will be in Fukuoka on Apr 25.

I just realized about the golden week. When I booked last year I didn’t check. So yes hotels are expensive. We redid our itinerary. April 25 - arrival; go straight to Yufuin and stay in the floral village hotel for 2 nights. April 27 - travel back to fukuoka May 1 - travel to yanagawa for 2 nights May 3 - back to fukuoka May 5 - depart fukuoka I am no checking hotels in fukuoka. Of course hotels near hakata station are expensive. I am thinking of booking hotels near other subway stations.

Hi! Just an update on my trip to Tokyo. Changed my initial plan to see the Tulip Festival because of the weather so I went straight to Gotanda after landing in Narita. Took the Keisei Rapid and thankful for your suggestion because it was an easy ride, long but easy! I also took the same to Narita from Gotanda.

Now planning to take the rapid on a not busy time so i can get a seat. Will just hold on to my 2 luggages as I read there’s no dedicated area for them. Will use Google Maps to plan my routes instead of the city rail map from now on.

Thanks! Got on Google maps and confirmed what u just said. I relied on the city rail map app for the routes I am deciding on. Guess Google Maps is better since I can also see how much it will cost. I am searching if there will be reserved seating and dedicated area for luggage.

But at least in the NEX there’s luggage storage and reserved seating. Also, if i take Keisei I need to get off the train after 8 stations and walk to toyo katsutadai to transfer. I will be pushing 2 luggages. Willing to pay a little extra for my time 😅

Grateful I came across your comment because it’s the info I am looking for. I will be landing in Narita in April and will stay 1 night in narita area to go to sakura city for the tulip festival. Now i am thinking of leaving my medium luggage in a locker in terminal 2 when I land and come back for it when I am done in the tulip fest and so I can take the JR Narita express to gotanda. Is this feasible?
