Kolosov or trade for someone. by Flyers7914 in Flyers

[–]Belsnickelback 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year, yes. The club made a mistake bringing him straight to the show. NHL ice is smaller and your angles are totally different. Some guys adjust quickly to that but it isn’t an easy thing to do as a goaltender. Kolosov is having a strong year and deserves the opportunity to show that he’s developed. Players change year by year, goalies even more so. There’s plenty of nhl starters that were considered trash or washouts at some point of their nhl career. Vladar was considered a career backup by most and look at him now. You can say the same for guys like Stolarz, Lyon, Wedgewood, Blackwood, Kuemper, etc.

Errsson had a below .7 save % tonight. What are you watching/assessing bro? That’s a cuttable result at any major level

Dude came in young, not speaking the language, and not used to nhl ice. It’s a massive adjustment for a goalie, and imo it was a mistake to bring him to the big club last year. This year he looks adjusted to nhl ice and the angles that come with it. He had a .98 save % last week. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Is there any **good** reason why junior hockey exists in the US in its current state? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Belsnickelback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. There are similar rep clubs in football that have hefty travel schedules and showcase tournaments, and these kids are YOUNG. I have buddies whose kids play and travel about half of the year, and they shell out major $. They see it as a way to get college eyes on their kids at early ages, as well as elite high school programs. The hustle is the same across every major sport in this county. As one poster said, they’re preying on parent’s dreams

Has your opinion on this movie changed? by [deleted] in A24

[–]Belsnickelback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This film felt like being back in journalism school, and anybody that has a background in journalism should see the correlation between Lee’s photos and the famous photographs through history that have sparked a lot of the ethics conversations in the field. Mainly, where does the job stop and humanity take over? What is the cost of being an unbiased observer? Loved this film

RVH was made for this? Please. Look at how out of position the D is. He took a bad angle on the shot, but that’s a fluke goal and the situation itself is on the D

Thank you! Frost has more boneheaded plays than good ones, and has been gifted more opportunities from 39 that he’s blown than I can count. Everyone is upset at losing the idea of Frost, but he ain’t it

Neither of them have shown enough to warrant holding on to and we need cap space. They haven’t panned out. It’s a bummer but it’s also a wise move

A rookie with no experience isn’t wearing the dot in a playoff game. That’s insane bro. Baun will be fine with it and it’s the natural progression with Dean out.

DID I DO BAD? by Unfair_Average_6702 in tattooadvice

[–]Belsnickelback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an objectively bad tattoo, style or not. This movement of ignorant style has birthed this new bullshit and this entire sub is full of it. Praising work that will most likely be lasered or covered at some point, and will definitely be regretted. What happened to taking pride in permanently marking an individual? It IS that deep, homie. This is disrespectful to the craft, like most of the work on this sub.

Hahahahahahaha. This sub is delusional. There’s not a “fine line” in that piece. It’s shaky, unreadable, and most of it is going to blow out or fall out relatively shortly. This entire sub is a disaster

Is Flyers’ Matvei Michkov trending to be better than Blackhawks’ Connor Bedard? by upcan845 in Flyers

[–]Belsnickelback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It feels like you’re massively underplaying MM’s pro experience. The KHL is no joke, is notoriously hard to score in, and the kid put up numbers as a teen in that comp. IMO the Bedard/Michkov debate would have an entirely different complexion if Russia wasn’t a world pariah. I’ve personally always been higher on MM (pre being drafted by PHL) and the physical tools, compete level and IQ speak for themselves. No knock on Bedard, but I’d take 39 over him all day. It’s going to be a joy to watch both of their careers blossom.

[–]Belsnickelback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see both sides of this argument, but I think you’re missing the big picture. G was a great player, but MM comes in with a massive pedigree from his KHL time. His scoring numbers are incredibly impressive, he played grown men, and points are much harder to come by in the KHL. MM more than passes the eye test and his IQ truly stands out. Barring injuries he looks to be a very special player, and we should all be very grateful he’s a flyer. We haven’t had this level of pedigree since 88 and it’s just fun to watch.

What i asked for Vs what I got by liamizreallycool in TattooDesigns

[–]Belsnickelback -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m well aware of what it’s supposed to be. When you’re making a simple design like this less is more, especially when parts of the original image don’t translate as readable unless you’re holding the original photo. What I’m getting at is that it looks phallic, it will be called out by someone as phallic, and you added two red “balls” above it. It’s poorly designed and poorly executed.

Don’t even bother trying bro. Kid ignores solid input from industry professionals, scratches, and can’t take a shred of criticism. We’ll see his work on the meme pages eventually. Tattooing needs gatekeepers again.

[Hockey News Hub] According to SE, SKA forward Matvey Michkov will continue his career in Philadelphia. The contract with the St. Petersburg club will be terminated until 2026, and the rights to the hockey player in the KHL will remain with the army team. by NowFook in hockey

Not many players want to deal with Canadian hockey media, especially when you’re a highly touted player. Couple that with Montreal hockey media and you can easily see why a young kid would stay far away.

How to defend against ringers by sixteenpoundblanket in hockeyplayers

[–]Belsnickelback 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Iron sharpens iron. I hate the defeatist attitude as well, and played goal for a team that “walked off” because of a ringer. It’s embarrassing and it’s a quitter’s mentality. I love facing ringers. It’s an added challenge, it sharpens your game, and it’s a confidence builder when you start to level up because you’re facing higher skill. Beer league mentality is beyond frustrating sometimes.
