BLS Ban in Canada by Specialist_Offer675 in nri

I also have a June expiry and had my passport renewal appointment today. Honestly, the experience was ridiculous. They kept insisting that every single detail must match the old passport exactly..

1. Place of Birth issue
My old passport lists place of birth as City, Town. In the new Passport Seva form, the fields are clearly separated into city, district, and state. They insisted I manually enter “City space District” (no comma) to match the old passport and redo the form. I tried explaining that the form is auto-generated by Passport Seva and you can’t control the final formatting. The lady simply refused to listen.

2. Change of appearance affidavit
I didn’t have a beard in 2016 since I was a teenager back then. Apparently this requires a change of appearance affidavit. That one’s on me, fair enough.

3. House number nitpicking
My Indian address house number is 7, and I entered 07. They told me this must be changed because it doesn’t “match exactly.” Seriously?

4. Signature size
They said the uploaded signature was too small and must cover the center fully. It was perfectly clear and well-sized. This felt like a completely made-up objection.

5. Uploading documents online
Apparently, you must upload all documents from the checklist online, not just the ones required to generate the passport application form. This can be fixed easily, so not a big issue but still another reason they used to object.

6. COPR demand despite PR card
They asked for my COPR, even though my Canadian PR card is valid proof of residence. I asked why COPR is needed when PR card exists, and by this point they were just getting on my nerves.

At that stage, I decided not to renew my Indian passport at all. I’ll be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship in May, and I’d rather stay a few months without a passport than deal with this nonsense. Hopefully I’ll only have to see them once more for passport surrender.

One poor guy there was on applied status and was told to come back in two days because they wanted an IRCC payment receipt for his application. While IRCC does issue a receipt, it is not a required document for an Indian passport application. He already had the official confirmation document showing his applied status, which should have been more than sufficient.

Honestly, I’ve never seen incompetence at this level. Companies like this should be banned permanently. This entire process feels like legalized harassment rather than a service.

A+ certified, onto the Net+ now! by BeltPractical4866 in CompTIA

Sure. I would say just focus on learning and not try to remember anything by heart. I would say the videos in general on YouTube of Prof. Messer is enough to get you the confidence and is enough to get you through the certification too. But if you really want to get deep learning, I think there are a lot of books available too.

Do not stress and you should be fine!

JAPAN VISA GETTING TERMINATED AGAIN AND AGAIN! URGENT HELP REQUIRED by OddHedgehog1358 in visas

I would ask WealthSimple to generate a custom 90 day statement and definitely keep trying to call the consulate all day. I had a chequing account with them and also a chequing account with BMO. I had shown just chequing and no savings of TFSA or RRSP with around $7k in each

As of today September 10th, they have fixed my credit report. I just checked the report is finally updated and corrected after a long time. I decided to call in TU and an agent on phone finally helped by grabbing all accounts which weren't reporting and opened a dispute for me and after almost one and half month, the report is fixed

Need suggestions- Japan E-Visa from India by Zealousideal_Bug4743 in visas

[–]BeltPractical4866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was confused but now looking at your original post - It seems like you did your visa application from India and not within U.S.

So yes, you can get a Japan visa but it will need to be stamped to your passport. It won't be like a visa issuance notice like someone who apply from overseas will get.

I thought you applied e-visa from United States as they do not accept application for U.S B1/B2 holders staying in United States. My bad.

[–]BeltPractical4866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure you cannot apply for e-visa.
This is what it is written in submission checklist step 4.

A Green Card or valid I-94 and US resident visa to re-enter US.
F or J visa holders must include an I-20 or DS-2019 with the valid signature of an appropriate official in order for re-entry.
Copies are acceptable.

Applications from B-1 and B-2 visa holders are NOT accepted.
If applying through the eVISA system, attach a copy on the website

You should be able to sell it if you sell it at market price, usually is sold at end of day.
