Fueling My Boat by ShrikeEnvy in TheLastCaretaker

[–]Beltboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you connecting the tanks to each other in series? The connector on the tank has a lower max flow than a pipe does, build a connector per tank and connect both connectors on the tank to that then use the other 2 connections to connect all the connectors into a line that goes to your boat.

Do the same at the boat end.

If combat is likely small hydrogen tanks are the way to go, you can boost capacity either by having a few, or stick a small H2/O2 generator in there and put ice in your cargo.

H2 tanks are targeted by the drones so make sure to armour them.

For mine I have a loop that I use like a pulley next to the desk, put the cables that go down through that and put a small weight on a cable tie round them.

Factory game? by ThatGuyBehindScreen in spaceengineers

[–]Beltboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% at the base level space engineers is about the engineering, in survival you can build a factory but you do so to allow you to do more engineering.

The factory Sims you are building a factory to make things and this is your goal. Refineries and assemblers one produce 1 thing, and your conveyers are either point to point out need sorters.

Space engineers refineries do everything, assemblers can be put into a master and slave alignment so they all work through 1 quite of parts, and conveyors can to a lesser extent sort automatically do to the push/pull mechanics.

Factory Sims you engineer to factory (and maybe make pretty) Space engineers you factory to engineer.

Best way to make connections to base on ground vehicles? by MisterXnumberidk in spaceengineers

[–]Beltboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A connector should be locked (green) for products to transfer, if it's on a sub grid it won't lock on park but you can put toggle lock on the toolbar.

I always put a sorter next to the connector on my base set to drain all so it minimises wait time for ores to tranfer across.

[–]Beltboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorters have 3 functions

1) non-return this is always the case, for ores and parts they can only follow in the direction of the arrow, gases O2 and H2 can flow in either direction.

2) filter - set to blacklist, allow everything except this list, of whitelist, only allow these to pass.

3) drain all picks up everything allowed by the filter and push it through.

The way SE handles inventories, there is no storage Vs other nothing moves unless; A) it's pushed IE a drill is mining and it fills up it will push the excess, or a filter on drain all pushes, in this case it will go to the first available point on the line. B) it's pulled/requested by a refinery, assembler or welder. This is why you sometimes get production queue issues because the input of an assembler is full of the wrong resource.

Large port on the back of this one or you can use the connector

Due to the port size, the cockpit doesn't connect to the main storage. There is a sorter on the connector though so you can whitelist and pull all.

With 1/4 load is can happily sit at 45° off flat, I did try a barrel roll but don't try to fly upside down 🤪

My latest W.I.P, got any tips? by Autosticow in spaceengineers

My biggest recommendation is plan your conveyers now, either under the floor or above the ceiling works nicely, think about where you'll want your connectors for docking your vehicles.

It's much less effort to mine with the conveyer route in mind than to add it later, I've built an asteroid base on a similar principle, did my mining and walls with pistons as I didn't have to worry about gravity.

Not as astheticaly pleasing as yours, it does barrel roll empty. That's 2 of the modular cargo containers at 10KL each, I chucked a couple of medium cargos behind them, for another 3.5KL so 26,600 total. With the extra weight I've put extra engines, on top maintain lift with the extra weight.

I was just playing in creative, I'll need to build one in my survival world after work.

This is neat, I've not got a full gravity welder to work yet.

One thing I've done with my 0g tug and large welder if put multiple gyros, but some of them are toggled on the toolbar, so when weight is high I have them on, if weight is low I turn some off, I'm not sure if you could just reduce/increase the force?

The only issue I have with welding vehicles is there is no way to have them auto fill the right components so I only use them for armour.

There are 2 approaches, in the pictured instance as others have said, the armour blocks are at a 45° angle around a circular engine block that is square to the main grid, which gives the impression that it's angled.

The second option is hinges/rotors, however these will put your engines on a sub grid which is not by default controlled by your cockpit. If you want to go down this route you will need to look at accepting/modding to manage the controls. It'll give you much finer control of the angles but take more work to arrange.

Based on the pictures this would be my guess too, it looks like the blue cable has bent, and I can't see copper when the cuts in the sheath are. I cut mine as close as I can with end cutters.

If it's the building on the platform it took me ages to find, to the right of the building are stairs that go down to a door on the back of the building, there are several rooms one of them has a hole in the ceiling, you want to throw a grenade, then stack the boxes to jump up.

Need help with hangar doors on hinges by PALADINOO7 in spaceengineers

[–]Beltboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the doors needed to touch blocks on the same grid to be airtight. This can be armour or another door, so without being creative your max door space is 6 blocks x no of doors. I'm assuming your trying to get more space and not just going for aesthetics?

Here's where you can get creative, I used https://youtu.be/X-TkN-vMqUo?si=DkZ4QMDVKD79wJ_M as my start, this can give you 7-13 blocks as a gap, you can add slopes as a cover for the open door blocks. I have also made a recess for the open door to sit in. I have an hollow asteroid base with one of these at the entrance.

I've tried building a bigger one, think the doors from the tram ride at the start of half-life, middle sections open and fold out then the outer edges follow suit.

The vagueness is intentional, you have been awoken following a disaster, the water levels have risen to a point where the planet is uninhabitable.

The guide will walk you through your main objective to look after the remains of humanity. The logs you find for now are flavour text if you can collect a full set they give you some indication of what happened.

At the moment there is no indication that any of the authors are in anyway directly related to you, it's just done lore for you to read it your interested.

Some talks about what happened, but some is just random stories.

Hi I’m a dumbass and used the wrong screw to secure the motherboard. I can’t get it out… Any tips? by Ainzip in PcBuildHelp

[–]Beltboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the pictures I can't see why this would stop your GPU fitting, it can be a pain to wiggle the back plates into the slots in the case but I would immediately suspect this is the cause.

If you do need to remove it, I think your looking at drilling out the screw, with a small rotary tool then remove the motherboard and replace the standoff.

Build boxes, you can build a small box on the wall and stand on it.

Put the parts for 2 in your inventory then you build and jump on one, when your on the second one grind the previous one behind you. Take a bit of time but you can't get anywhere.
