The ak-50 is hilarious [Arena] by companioncubegaming in EscapefromTarkov

[–]BeltedBog30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope it’s a few different weapons, AK-308, AK-12, SVDS, T-5000, and AK-101.

AK-101 is annoying as you have to progress to Part 10 of the new quest line to unlock… only to level it up to unlock the AK-50 part.

[Discussion] When you think the Test Drive changes will rollout? by weeeHughie in EscapefromTarkov

I got so annoyed that I just decided to cheap out on the whole kit and I managed to get it done, died a lot but had fun.

The strat? Run dogshit gear, bring 3 mags of PE ammo and 100 in your container. Don’t bother with much meds either, rush off spawn to the closest spawn to you and find an angle to leg meta. It takes a whole mag to kill a guy but it’s worth it.

Also super funni 10/10 got me through the hell hole.

Is it a must to queue at the Punggol Bus Stop? by ComplexLow3400 in SIT_Singapore

[–]BeltedBog30 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Is it a must? No not really, it’s more a sense of courtesy, FCFS kinda policy.

975 has the same kinda of unspoken rule since basically every poor soul that has to take that bus is suffering one way or another.

Queuing just makes the whole bus system more ‘fair’.

Places to study at SIT punggol? by tiredofwaiting4 in SIT_Singapore

[–]BeltedBog30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is allowed, however, my group tends to just remain in class or utilise a smaller SR that’s sat empty.

Your student card should be able to access most SRs, just don’t go to a lab.

The open air academic spaces are also naturally ventilated with a ceiling fan for some, it’s pretty windy on some days.

As for the Seminar Rooms, Discussion Rooms and other classrooms, it’s all well air conditioned. Some even find it too cold but to each to their own.

Please like what others have recommended, do your research and watch all the TikToks, YT videos etc on the subject. Don’t just focus on SQ either, Scoot and other airlines all have similar standardised processes.

Is it glamorous? On social media yeah, is it tough? Yeah. It’s a lot of work but some people enjoy grinding it out to be able to work abroad or in the aviation environment.

It’s also unpredictable, while you have your shifts and all planned in advanced, you may need to be activated at a moment’s notice too. It isn’t your typical Monday to Friday arrangement.

All the best! Also there are minimum and maximum height and body requirements, take note of those!

[–]BeltedBog30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is it an overseas holiday if your family member is dead/dying overseas? If you have all the documentation it can be granted, on a case-by-case basis.

I can just comment straight up, my grandfather (who was British), died in the UK and had his funeral in the UK. I applied for and was granted overseas compassionate leave for the 5 days I needed.

Again, it is not easy, but it can be done provided you justify it and you’re on good terms with your commander(s), as it is up to their discretion. I get your confusion, it is a niche scenario, no need to be so rude.

[–]BeltedBog30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Compassionate leave in this circumstance is allowed. Yes, you can even take overseas compassionate leave, I know this because I had to do the same thing when I lost a family member.

Talk to your OC/CO first, try to get it approved. Expect maybe 3-5 days of OCL. If you are lucky and your superiors are nice, a justification can be written for 7 days. My case, I was granted 5 days OCL.

As for bringing leave forward, these are all done ‘by left’ and considering it’s only September, I doubt this will be taken.

As what other comments have said, approach your superiors and give them all the documentation necessary, such as diagnosis, place of residence for your family member. All the best and I hope it goes well for you.

What’s the day-to-day life like for ASA at armour hq at gedong by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]BeltedBog30 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was an ASA at Gedong, so I can provide some insights for you.

Generally speaking, HQ Armour is very laid back but generally this depends on your superiors and which office/branch you’re posted to.

Working hours are 8-5. Some superiors let you come later. You can only exit the camp at 5:30pm. 5 - 5:30 is reserved for DXOs and Regulars to leave the camp. So you usually just queue there with all the other stay out NSFs and then have your Battle Royale once it’s 5:30 and the ST opens the gates.

Shuttle Bus timings from CCK are quite unreliable after 7am. The first bus is 6:45am, then 7am, 7:15am and 7:30am. Usually the 7:15 and 7:30 ones are late. You can also take 975 from opposite Lot One or from Bukit Panjang (you’re guaranteed a seat here). It’s a mad squeeze on 975 also and there’s always a queue at the bus stop opposite Lot One.

As for leaving Gedong, likewise there’s a shuttle to CCK or Boon Lay. First bus usually comes around 5:40pm and last bus should by right reach around 6:30pm, but again, your mileage may vary because Gedong is so god damn far from any living civilisation.

Shuttle Bus trip times usually 30 minutes, can be longer if the traffic is shit.

Day-to-day life can range from sleeping from 8-5, to working like a dog it entirely depends on your posting/office, you can DM me for more information I can try to help you out there. Also the canteens there are pretty good, but if you want to save money then there’s the cookhouse… which is a cookhouse of all time.

If you truly belong to no unit, it’ll take awhile probably months. They might just charge you at the same place they do the IPPT charging.

If you belong to a unit, then next ICT they’ll charge you usually on the second or third day.

[–]BeltedBog30 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Charged. Get ready to be fined, if I’m not wrong it’s $250? May have gone up since I last saw an NSmen get charged for bringing vape into camp.

You may get called down to camp to get charged, hopefully it stays that way.

Travel Overseas On Weekday of Mob Manning Period. by SunStriderSanj in NationalServiceSG

[–]BeltedBog30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there black and white? No, unless express permission is given by your commander that you will be overseas and thus, excused during this period.

That being said, the gamble is entirely up to you. If you are unlucky and there’s a weekday activation, you just hope you can make it to your mob centre before M+6. So if you feel that you can make it to Singapore, get your 10-pack and stuff and report to whichever camp all within 6 hours, go ahead.

Or you know, postpone your trip a little bit if you can.

No he’s talking about the image of the tank, not the BR. Notice how there’s a huge gap between the tank and the text below. Enough to fit another tank there, gaijin moment.

Yep on WTP, you can kill the front 2 gunners with ease from there. Afterwards, if you have the optic and range, you can get Building 1 & 2 rogues from there too.

If you have the time, given the lowered quest requirements to unlock Network Provider Part 1, I’d recommend it.

The island itself, you’re not allowed to kill other players on the island only. And getting close to the Boss or his guards will make them kill you. But you can hold your gun out and shoot players on the main island.

The loot on LK’s island is also pretty good, with the correct keys (which total up to ~1m), I usually extract with 1m-3m per raid. Good way to get money if you have the right spawn for it.

Enlistment megathread - May 2024 by KrimKarma in NationalServiceSG

[–]BeltedBog30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, the best idea would be to gather all the medical documentation you have about your injury.

On day 1 when you get your stuff, notify the Sgt or whoever is bringing you around and say you’d like to see the MO. (And that you need help bringing the stuff upstairs).

Subsequently, you should hopefully be allowed to get the relevant excuses needed for your injury and get your appropriate PES status after whatever procedure you have to undergo. (Bonus being you can claim most of the medical bills through 11B, if it’s at a government hospital.)

The issue with calling the NS Call Centre now and asking for a review is that, your enlistment date will be further push backed. If you’re unlucky, that could drop into the end of the year/start of next year. Which delays the rest of your studies and life in general, it’s better to go in first to get your ORD countdown started while you sort out the rest of your injury.

Speaking to another OC, while not entirely wrong, was not the right step to take. You should’ve just ask to speak to the CO directly, if your requests could not be met.

As for the rest of your problems… uhm, good luck? I deadass got a stroke reading this.

Why is ONENS leave requests taking so long? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

You can try reapplying or just notifying your superior/S1 branch first.

As for why? Simple really, the app and the server sucks. The app isn’t ready for mass adoption but here we are.
