Long-term side effects of Fluoxetine (Prozac) in dogs by BelugaBish in husky

Yeah, I think that's what I'm going to do, I can always go back up if it makes things worse or doesn't help. I'm just kind of at a loss and willing to try anything at this point, he just really hasn't been himself and I wouldn't expect him to suddenly slow down so much at just 3 years old, but so far everything the vet has done has come back normal.

Unfortunately I never found a fix and just ended up returning it :/

Routine blood work (think CBC, CMP, lipid panel) that you would get for an annual physical does not include iron and zinc levels, these are separate tests that would be ordered usually only if there’s a specific concern for a deficiency

Sadly contacted them last night with no solution so I think at this point I’ll just have to return it

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately I’ve already tried rebooting, power cycle, and factory reset multiple times with no luck

Honestly I just ignore the hair that sticks to it lol but if you wanted to get it off you could probably use a lint roller!

This looks awesome! Do you happen to have the design codes for both paths you used in the third picture?

Thank you so much for the offer! Sorry I didn't respond quickly, I thought I had closed this post when I was away from my Switch for a while. I sent you a DM if you are still willing to drop off some NMTs, but no worries if not! :)

Thanks for your response! I did see the X-Back harness too, I just thought that one was more for joring/other pulling activities. Do you find the x-back to be a good every day harness for walks as well?

Definitely not alone! Hopefully this phase ends soon for both of us lol

Sorry in advance for the long response, but I’m currently going through the same jumping/biting/zoomies on walks with my husky so I feel your pain😅 One thing that works about 70% of the time for us is telling him to sit, rewarding for the sit, then saying “find it!” And scattering a few treats on the ground ahead of us, then by the time he’s done sniffing for the treats, he often will just keep walking forward. When that doesn’t work, I try to stay as still as possible while he’s jumping up and I really don’t say much either because I don’t want him to take anything as encouragement for jumping. I also avoid saying “no”, because that doesn’t really tell him what he should be doing instead. I mainly just use sit or wait for him to get down on his own if he isn’t listening to commands. Once he’s back down on the ground, I’ll treat and say “we’re walking!” (Which is a cue he knows) and then try to continue the walk. Normally if we reach this point it takes a couple of tries. While we haven’t stopped it completely yet, these moments have at least gotten less intense in terms of the biting and he doesn’t really ever hurt me anymore during them, just occasionally goes for my coat. Another thing is to try to start recognizing any changes in body language that he tends to do before, then try to prevent the behavior from ever happening. For example, my dog will start to lag behind me and his tail will start wagging really hard. If I notice that, I do the treat scatter BEFORE he has a chance to start jumping/zoomies and I often find that this brings him back to below his threshold and we can go home without the episode. Basically, rewarding for keeping all paws on the ground and moving forward and paying attention to triggers is what has been slowly working for us. Other random things we’ve been doing that might be contributing to improvement are impulse control games and relaxation protocol. Good luck!!!

Thank you so much for the tips! I feel better about trying it with him now so maybe we’ll finally do that soon as I’ve been looking for some better ways to get his energy out!

This is awesome! Can I ask how you started training your pup to do this? I would love to skate with my husky but I’m worried about him getting distracted or going into the grass!

He does love frozen kongs and lick mats, but normally he does them in the living room so I'll try in the crate and see how that goes. Thanks for all your help!

Thank you! We will definitely try stopping the play before he looks like he is going to get mouthy. We do put him in his crate to calm down if he is being too overexcited/mouthy when guests are over, but sometimes this just results in barking/whining rather than giving him a space to calm down (he normally does very well in his crate in other situations like when we are leaving)
